The Purple Heart Medal has a long history that starts with George Washington, who established the Badge of Military Merit during the Revolutionary War. It was discontinued after the war, but reinstated with a new design in 1932, the 200th anniversary of Washington’s birth. WASINGTON – Elizabeth Warren's campaign has fired its national organizing director, Richard McDaniel, after "multiple complaints regarding inappropriate behavior," the campaign said Friday."Over the past two weeks, senior campaign leadership received multiple complaints regarding inappropriate behavior by Rich McDaniel," Warren communications director Kristen Orthman said in a statement. "Over the same time period, the campaign retained outside counsel to conduct an investigation.
