Is getting a new job on the top of your holiday wish list this year? Well, experts say, December is actually one of the best times to look for a job."We’re hearing from many hiring managers that they will still be working to fill their positions over the next couple of weeks," said Robert Half senior regional president Karen Policastro.Policastro says now is as good a time as any to put yourself out there, especially in this highly-competitive job market."Make sure you are extremely active over the holidays because many hiring and decision makers want to be able to have their staff filled and complete and hit the ground running come January," said Policastro. And now, nine months into the pandemic, the job fields that are hiring are a little different."We’ve seen an influx in accounts payable clerks, collections clerks, HR positions. Surprisingly, we have a lot of human resource positions come through," said Policastro. She says with so many people working from home, help desk positions and customer service positions are also in high demand."Companies have had to shift and be extremely flexible due to the pandemic. And these positions have definitely become more in demand," said Policastro. And if you’re one of the millions of service industry workers who have lost their jobs or have had your hours cut, these could potentially be great jobs."If you’ve been in the restaurant industry, you definitely have customer service skills. So, cater your resume and/or online profile, cover letter, to really highlight the customer experience that you were able to provide," said Policastro.Policastro also says a lot of companies are looking to hire temporary or contract positions, especially while they're remote. So, think about those options as well. A lot of places are posting job openings on sites like LinkedIn. Make sure your profile is up to date and says, "Available Immediately". 1909

It kind of feels like a concert, but there’s no musical performance. It’s former First Lady Michelle Obama, having a conversation with tens of thousands of people during her “Becoming” tour stop in Denver.  “This has been an amazing day being here with all of you,” Obama says.  The event, however, was just one part of the time she spent in the community. Just hours earlier, Emma Jones and her mom were among the hundreds of patients and families who packed the lobby of Children’s Hospital Colorado for the surprise visit. After a warm welcome, Obama sat down with Santa to read a book and answer questions from her young audience members.  “Was there really a movie theater in the White House?” asked one child.  Other questions were more serious, including one that asked Obama what advice she’d give to her younger self.“Don't let fear stop you from doing things that will help you grow,” she replied.  “Just being at the hospital and like knowing that something is going on with you in the first place, it's kind of scary,” says patient Emma Jones. “But like just hearing that message from someone who cares a lot about everybody is just super empowering and like it was just really cool.”Following the hospital stop, Obama signed copies of her book at a local bookstore.   With eight tour stops so far, all of them include some form of giving back to young people. In Detroit, Obama surprised a group of college students, sitting in on a discussion on education. In Boston, she made a stop at a Boys and Girls Club, and in Los Angeles, she read books to preschoolers.  It's a reflection of what Obama says is closest to her heart.  “I love kids. If I could spend every day with kids, like you all day, I would do that every single day,” Obama says. 1823

INDIO, Calif. (KGTV) -- Organizers could know within the next 48 hours whether or not to postpone Coachella, sources tell Billboard. Currently, the festival is set to take place the weekends of April 10 and 17. Officials told Billboard Monday that they’re working on a plan to possibly move the music and arts festival to the weekends of October 9 and 16. RELATED: San Diego County woman tests positive for coronavirus following overseas travelThe news comes as three new cases of novel coronavirus were reported in Riverside County, where Coachella takes place, KABC reports. Meanwhile, Stagecoach also appears to be on the chopping block. Billboard says plans are taking shape to possibly move Stagecoach, a country music festival, to October as well. INDIANAPOLIS -- If you believe the latest conspiracy theory you should probably take the next couple of days to finish your bucket list because the end of the world is coming this weekend. That said, we wouldn't suggest skipping work just yet.The latest theory suggests that on Saturday, September 23, “Planet X” will crash into Earth causing the apocalypse. The man behind that theory, David Meade, even authored a book called “Planet X – The 2017 Arrival.” His original theory suggested that the world would end a few days earlier, but it was adjusted based on the date of the most recent solar eclipse.Meade says his claims are rooted in Christianity – and that the date coincides with biblical history, falling 33 days after the total solar eclipse.  "Jesus lived for 33 years. The name Elohim, which is the name of God to the Jews, was mentioned 33 times (in the Bible)," he told the Washington Post. "It's a very biblically significant, numerologically significant number."Meade’s attempt to predict the end of the world is not the first one to go viral, and not even the first to claim the fictional planet, Niburu, would cause the end to come.NASA debunked claims of Nibiru’s existence years ago and dedicated an entire page to the December 21, 2012, apocalypse predictions, even creating a question and answer and a video titled “Beyond 2012: Why the World Didn’t End.”They have since updated that page in reference to the most recent “prediction.”“The planet in question, Nibiru, doesn’t exist,” said NASA. “There will be no collision.”The story of Nibiru has been around for years and has been recycled into numerous apocalyptic fables over time, this is just the latest one to surface - according to NASA – and it likely won’t be the last. 1772

Investigators searching for missing University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts have gotten hundreds of tips and are looking for her in ponds, fields and from the air, officials said Friday morning at a news conference."Unfortunately, we have not yet found Mollie, but it has not been due to a lack of effort or a lack of resources," said Kevin Winker, director of investigative operations for the Iowa Department of Public Safety.Tips on the missing student "have been coming in regularly," and 30 to 40 investigators are on the case, Winker said. The 2-week-old case is "very frustrating, but it hasn't slowed our efforts," Winker said, adding that investigators "come to work everyday with the attitude that we're going to find Mollie."Asked whether they're investigating Tibbitts' disappearance as an abduction, Winker said they are treating it as a missing person case. He would not say whether investigators have any suspects or persons of interest.Tibbetts disappeared on July 18 in Brooklyn, Iowa, a small community an hour east of Des Moines, according to the Poweshiek County Sheriff's Office. 1109
