SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A San Diego police officer was involved in a shooting outside a music venue in downtown San Diego just before 7 p.m. Saturday.San Diego Police Lt. Mike Holden said that a white man in his thirties was acting violently on top of a vehicle hood on the corner of W. Ash Street and India Street.The man was only wearing pants and did not have a shirt or shoes on and was standing on the hood of a car yelling at the driver, police said. A police officer tried to take the man into custody and used a Taser, which did not subdue him. Police said the man continued to act violently.The officer then fired one shot, which did not hit anybody."The officer continued to struggle with the suspect," said Lt. Mike Holden of the San Diego Police Department. "At one point during the struggle the officer feared for his life. The officer fired one round from his handgun, but missed the suspect."The suspect, Brent Zadina, 30, was taken into custody and transported to a hospital for observation. Police do not believe Zadina was armed.The officer sustained minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital, Holden said. Police are investigating the incident near the Music Box. The roads were closed nearby for the investigation but have since reopened.This is a developing story. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A teen suffered serious injuries after a firework he was holding exploded early Thursday morning.ABC 10News learned the incident happened at around 2 a.m. in the 5500 block of Montezuma Road, near San Diego State University.The 18-year-old male was apparently holding an M80 when it suddenly went off. The teen reportedly lost most of his fingers and suffered an injury to his foot.The teen was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center for treatment. Details on his injuries were not immediately released.No other injuries were reported in the incident. 576

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - An argument between two women turned violent when one stabbed the other with a box cutter Saturday afternoon in Mt. Hope, San Diego Police said.A 27-year-old woman was taken to the hospital, along with her 16-year-old brother. Her brother was also stabbed when he tried to intervene in the fight and defend his sister. Both are expected to recover from their injuries, police said.The suspect left the area, near 41st Street and Hilltop Drive, driving a white Toyota Solara with a tan roof, according to witnesses. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A water hydrant break Friday flooded a stretch of Midway District road and swallowed a traffic signal.The break was reported on Midway Drive between Sports Arena Boulevard and Kemper Street, according to San Diego police. The stretch of road was closed fdue to flooding.There was no estimated time of restoration.The flooding in the area was so severe, a traffic signal sunk about halfway into the ground.San Diego Fire-Rescue crews were able to shut the water off shortly before 5:30 p.m. 516
