For those who remember the TV show, the decor is a bit "Dating Game." Or perhaps "Austin Powers." Along with a feature you've likely never spotted in any health clinic."You can touch, you can create. You can get a low profile," says clinic Marketing Director, Marcell Reyes Vermillion, as he poses for selfies in a bright yellow photo-booth adorned with strings of yellow balls and a yellow shag carpet.The selfie-booth encourages those "cleared for sex" to take a picture for social media."This is a very sex positive message that we're hoping to share with people," said Dr. Susan Little, Professor of Medicine for UC San Diego. "There has been a lot of messaging around disease prevention. And we now have really good drugs, biomedical interventions, to prevent HIV infection among people who are negative. And to prevent transmission among people who are positive." Make no mistake, Dr. Little makes clear the goal is to stop transmission of STDs. Especially HIV among young Hispanic men where cases are still on rise. But Dr. Little says the new approach is to make getting checked an inviting experience, that celebrates health and sex."I think the time as come to let people know they no longer have to worry about disease," says Dr. Little. "We need to try and promote a sex positive, status neutral, sexual health promotion, rather than disease prevention." "Get checked, then you can mate with anyone you want," says Vermillion. (KGTV) — A recent study may cause pause at the dinner table this holiday season for millions of Americans.The study by the New England Journal of Medicine claims that nearly one in two adults (49 percent) will be obese by 2030, with obesity rates being at least 35 percent in every state and higher than 50 percent in 29 states. Nearly one in four adults are projected to have severe obesity by 2030. "Severe obesity" is projected to be the most common body-mass index (BMI) category among women, black adults, and low-income adults nationally, the study added.RELATED: Carlsbad company invents weight loss balloon"Our analysis indicates that the prevalence of adult obesity and severe obesity will continue to increase nationwide, with large disparities across states and demographic subgroups," the study said.Most previous obesity estimates have relied on surveys in which respondents often understate their weight. The new report used decades-long federal study to get a more accurate picture of the growing epidemic.The study says BMI data from more than 6.2 million adults collected from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System Survey in 1993-1994 and 1999-2016 was used and measured with data from 57,000 adults who participated in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. (KGTV) -- As Californians try to rebound from this pandemic, many have turned to an online group to get answers about unemployment and benefits.Erica Chan started the Facebook group “Unofficial CA unemployment help” in March. She is in the film industry, which has mostly been shut down during this pandemic. With the help of others, like Ruddy Salazar, they have grown the page to more than 40,000 members.Salazar knows the frustration of dealing with the Employment Development Department firsthand. He has been on both disability and unemployment. “I’ve actually had to call three times now. The first two times took around 300 calls,” Salazar said. “I think it’s frustrating to see that this many people need that help. That our government isn’t there,” Chan said. Questions on the Facebook page range from the application process, identity verification, benefit extensions, and how to actually reach someone in the EDD office to help.They hope the group can give people an avenue to avoid having to call the EDD. Chan also started a separate website to help centralize all the questions about unemployment that she has seen over the past several weeks. “I like to feel like we’re providing that kind of service of generating that community and cultivating it,” Salazar said. 1288

However, the campaign itself is attributed to Brian Kolfage Jr., a Florida Air Force veteran who lost three limbs during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004. (KGTV) - An earthquake struck northern Mexico’s Baja California peninsula Monday, causing tremors felt in San Diego County.The 4.8 quake was located near Alberto Oviedo Mota at 12:18 p.m.The initial quake was followed by a 3.3 aftershock in the same area seven minutes later.Alberto Oviedo Mota is roughly 160 miles from San Diego. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the shaking in San Diego County was in the II-III or IV categories, meaning weak to light. The strongest shaking reported in the U.S. was in El Centro, which was considered moderate.There are no immediate reports of damage or injuries. 626
