SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Rail service along the Los Angeles-San Diego-San Luis Obispo rail corridor will again be suspended Saturday through 5 a.m. Monday from Oceanside to San Diego for track and signal improvements, according to the San Diego Association of Governments.The scheduled rail work in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Carlsbad and San Diego is the second of two weekend-long closures for track and signal improvements along the LOSSAN corridor. Rail service was also suspended from Oct. 13 to Oct. 15. Rail service for the four railroads affected by the closures -- the North County Transit District, Metrolink, Amtrak and freight line BNSF -- is expected to resume Monday for morning commute hours, albeit with possible delays.Track crews in Cardiff-by-the-Sea will replace rail ties as part of a double-tracking project to add a second rail track between Cardiff-by-the-Sea to the San Elijo Lagoon. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The City of San Diego began a virtual open house Monday to solicit public input for two potential uses for a vacant lot in the Encanto community.The city is asking the public to consider two redevelopment proposals for the Valencia Business Park located at Stevens Way and Imperial Avenue.Located in the federally designated San Diego Promise Zone, the Valencia Business Park has been vacant for more than 20 years. According to the city, the community-focused redevelopment is moving forward and expected to create at least 72 full-time jobs."For years, the vision for Southeastern San Diego has included activating the Imperial Avenue Corridor and development of the Valencia Business Park property," said Councilwoman Monica Montgomery Steppe. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - People who visited the Lucky Lady Casino in San Diego on weekends over a six-month period ending in late September may have been exposed to tuberculosis, county health officials reported Tuesday.The Health and Human Services Agency is working with the casino to inform patrons and staff who may have been exposed between Feb. 23 and Sept. 30, said county spokesman Jose A. Alvarez.HHSA will provide testing at no cost to patrons who were potentially exposed, Alvarez said.
