(KGTV) -- A San Diego woman’s mother is missing following a solo trip to Zion National Park in Utah, according to CNN.Holly Courtier hasn’t been seen or heard from since October 6 when she embarked on the trip.Courtier was dropped off at the park by a private shuttle bus and scheduled to be picked up the same day, but never returned, KABC reports.Courtier’s daughter Kailey Chambers told the station her mother is an experienced hiker. The kennel uses the same technology found in vehicles and headphones in order to protect dogs' sensitive ears from fireworks that could cause them to panic.Here's how it works: Microphones inside the kennel detect the sound of a firework and then omit an opposing frequency to cancel out the noise or reduce it almost entirely. The walls of the kennel are designed using high-density cork in order to add another degree of silence.The result is a futuristic-looking kennel that keeps canines content amid the "booms" and "crackles" of fireworks:The prototype was inspired by some of the cabin technology Ford employs in its own vehicle designs.“We wondered how the technologies we use in our cars could be applied to help in other situations. (KGTV) - A San Diego County sheriff’s deputy was arrested in Riverside County this week on suspicion of child molestation, according to law enforcement records.Riverside County jail records show 40-year-old Sam Thomas Knight was taken into custody Tuesday in the county. He was booked into jail on charges of lewd/lascivious acts on a child under 14 (felony); lewd/lascivious acts with a child under 14 with force (felony); and annoying/molesting children (misdemeanor).According to a criminal complaint, the incidents happened in 2011 and 2016. An investigation began in 2016. An arrest warrant was issued for Knight nearly two weeks ago, but Knight was not arrested until this week.Authorities could not immediately comment why there was such a lapse in time to detain an individual wanted on child molestation charges.Bail for Knight was set at ,000. Details on what led to Knight’s arrest were not immediately disclosed.Sheriff's officials said Knight has been placed on leave. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department had no comment on Knight’s arrest and referred any questions about his case to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office: 1167

(KGTV) -- Cal Fire and the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department are responding to reports of a hiker bit by a rattlesnake in East County Tuesday afternoon.According to Cal Fire, the incident happened on the Pine Hills Wilderness Trail.The agency says the hiker was reportedly bitten by a rattlesnake and is being transported to the hospital for evaluation via ground ambulance.The condition of the hiker is unknown at this time. 437
