SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Despite intense fires burning throughout the state, the air quality in San Diego ranges between moderate and good Sunday.According to San Diego's Air Pollution Control District, Sunday is expected to see favorable conditions.Throughout the day, air quality levels will be good to moderate. RELATED: Camp, Woolsey and Hill fires visible from space, NASA photos showSunday morning, the National Weather Service posted a forecast that shows most of the smoke will clear San Diego by later this afternoon or evening. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — For the second time in as many weeks, several train cars derailed near the downtown San Diego area.The BNSF Railway Company says 19 cars derailed at about 9:40 p.m. Friday while traveling at slow speeds. The train cars were carrying automobiles.The backup continued into Saturday morning. Each car has to be physically lifted back onto the tracks before the train can move.The derailment comes a week after four BNSF train cars derailed and struck a pillar supporting an overpass bridge on Harbor Dr. BNSF says the causes of both derailments are under investigation.BNSF is one of the largest freight railroad network in the country, according to the company's website, with about 32,500 miles of track in 28 states. 1190

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Hundreds of miles from her hometown of Paradise, Ashley Ketcham watches in horror as the Camp Fire ravages her beloved community.She now lives in Escondido and first heard about the fire from her mother.“I kind of blew it off because we’ve had fires my whole life, and then she wrote me back again and said the CMA Church burned down," Ketcham remembers.RELATED: Camp Fire: At least 9 dead as fire incinerates N. California townAt first, she felt numb.“I woke up this morning and, um, a friend of mine said 'Is it ok to hate God right now?' And I was just devastated, and I think that’s when it hit me, that their whole life is gone, their homes, their jobs, the memories, places we visited as kids, they're just gone," said Ketcham.She says the people of Paradise will need many things, but right now they need prayers.RELATED: Interactive map: Camp Fire burns across NorCal towns“Just please pray, please pray for these families, if you have a way to help, please help," said Ketcham.Thousands of structures have burned in the small community, including hospitals, schools, and homes.At least five people have been killed.The North Valley Community Foundation has activated a fire relief fund to donate to those displaced.  1257
