SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Border Patrol agents say they found human remains in the Tijuana River Valley early Saturday.The agents discovered the human remains near the Tijuana River just before 8:20 a.m. on Dairy Mart Road and Clear Water Way, according to City News Service and Chief Patrol Agent Douglas Harrison.The investigation was turned over to the San Diego Police Department's homicide detectives. 10News has reached out to San Diego Police, but have yet to hear back.No further information was immediately available.City News Service contributed to this report. 572

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- At least six people were injured Thursday morning after a head-on crash in Dulzura.According to Cal Fire San Diego, the crash happened on state Route 94 near Otay Truck Trail at around 7:30 a.m.The circumstances surrounding the crash are still unclear, but Cal Fire says one person was taken to the hospital with major injuries, and five others had minor injuries.The condition of the person rushed to the hospital is unclear at this time. 468

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Authorities Monday identified a man who died after falling from an East Village building he was trying to paint with graffiti. Alejandro Vazquez Paz, 28, died after falling from a building on the 1500 block of E Street, according to San Diego County’s Medical Examiner. The incident was reported around 8:30 in the morning after transients in the area flagged down police, leading them to the abandoned building. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — City Councilman Scott Sherman's newly announced candidacy will alter the race to become San Diego's next mayor.Sherman, termed out from City Council, is the first household Republican to run to lead America's eighth largest city. Sherman announced he would run just before the Dec. 6 deadline to file for the March 2020 primary. Current Mayor Kevin Faulconer, a Republican, is termed out. In an interview, Sherman said he did not want the mayoral debates to be dominated by two big-name Democrats: State Assemblyman Todd Gloria and City Council President Pro-Tem Barbara Bry. "There's a very good chance that he will get in the runoff."The top two vote-getters, regardless of party affiliation, will move on to the November primary. In September, a 10News-Union-Tribune scientific poll showed Gloria leading Bry by a two-to-one margin, with 31 percent of voters supporting Gloria, and 15 percent supporting Bry.
