(KGTV) -- A man who was apparently shot with an arrow was found dead in National City Monday afternoon.According to National City Police, the incident was reported at around 2:30 p.m. near the 1800 block of Wilson Avenue.After the shooting, the suspect reportedly called police saying he shot an arrow into a man. The suspect told police there was a fight before the shooting.NCPD Captain Alex Hernandez said the suspect showed officers where the victim was located. The victim was found in what appeared to be a homeless encampment and pronounced dead at the scene."We were able to recover the bow and some other items that were nearby as evidence," said Hernandez.Police say a woman who was believed to be with the two men at the time of the shooting was questioned. All three are believed to be transients living in the encampment where the incident took place, police say.While the deceased man was not identified, National City police identified the suspect as 39-year-old Miguel Venegas; he was booked into jail on a suspicion of murder charge. 1080

MILWAUKEE -- The Brewers beat the Chicago Cubs in dramatic fashion Friday night -- but the real drama appeared to be in the upper-level stands of Miller Park.Ben Campion witnessed the fight and captured it on the cell phone. It shows two fans brawling in the upper deck in right field.  One person was wearing an Aaron Rodgers jersey -- the other person became shirtless.  The video shows the two fans falling into fans who were sitting in different sections.Right now, there is no word on if anyone was arrested in the scuffle.   563

MOBILE, Ala. — Former Auburn University football coach Tommy Tuberville has defeated Jeff Sessions to win the Republican Senate primary in Alabama.The 65-year-old Tuberville is now positioned to put up a strong challenge against Democratic Sen. Doug Jones. President Donald Trump endorsed Tuberville.Sessions had held the Senate seat for 20 years until he resigned to serve as Trump’s attorney general. But he was politically wounded by Trump’s criticism after he recused himself in the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential campaign.The president continued his criticism of Sessions right up to the eve of Tuesday’s election, saying he “made a mistake” when he appointed Sessions attorney general. 733

NASHVILLE, Tennessee — Opry Mills mall in Nashville announced plans to reopen Friday, one day after a shooting claimed the life of a 22-year-old man. The mall will reopen at 10 a.m. local time – fewer than 24 hours after a murder investigation began inside the building. There will be an enhanced Metro Nashville Police presence to ensure that shoppers and staff feel safe. The shooting happened just before 2:30 p.m. local time Thursday inside a hallway near the Auntie Anne's pretzel shop, just across from Old Navy. The victim, Demarco Churchwell, was taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center, where he later died. Police said the gunman is 22-year-old Justin Golson. He's been charged with homicide. As soon as shots were fired, shoppers scattered, terrified after hearing those gunshots.  "I thought I was going to die, I thought I was never going to see my husband or daughter again,” one woman said. Churchwell and the alleged shooter apparently knew each other.
