SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A bicyclist riding with a group of cyclists was seriously injured Saturday when he was struck by a motorcycle in Pacific Beach, police said.The collision happened at 3:14 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Ingraham Street and Reed Avenue, according to Officer John Buttle of the San Diego Police Department.A 23-year-old man riding a 2017 Harley Davidson Sportster was southbound in the 4200 block of Ingraham as a group of cyclists were eastbound in the 1500 block of Reed Avenue, Buttle said.The cyclists entered the intersection and the motorcycle struck one of them, a 49-year-old man, the officer said.The motorcyclist suffered road rash to his right leg, Buttle said. The bicyclist suffered a broken left femur and broken ribs. Medics took the cyclist to a hospital.Officers from the SDPD traffic division were investigating the collision, Buttle said.Ingraham was closed in both directions at Thomas and Oliver avenues and was expected to last a couple of hours, the SDPD said. 1012

And if that’s not enough, wildfires could nearly double in size by 2100, according to the California Natural Resources Agency.In a quote on the report, Governor Jerry Brown took a swipe at President Trump saying, “In California, facts and science still matter,” seemingly referring to the Trump administration’s stance on environmental issues. Brown went on to label the finding an “apocalyptic threat” in a dramatic response to the assessment.The report isn’t all doom and gloom, however, and offers a glimmer of hope as to how the state hopes to respond to the threat.Since the release of the third climate change assessment in 2012, the Golden State has experienced several history-making natural events, which include a five-year drought, flooding and increasingly-destructive wildfires.The report suggests that the extreme events will only continue to worsen in the future. 1201

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KGTV) -- Republican California State Senator Brian Jones is behind a new bill that, if passed, would change the way military retirement pay is taxed. The bill, titled SB 1071, would exempt military retirement pay from the state’s income tax. According to Jones, California is one of only seven states that fully taxes military retirement pay. Other states include Montana, New Mexico, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, and Virginia. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A convicted rapist wanted in New York for violating his parole by leaving the state pleaded not guilty Monday in a San Diego courtroom to burglary charges. Dale Dulac, 57, faces charges in San Diego of auto burglary and possession of stolen property, according to the District Attorney's Office. Dulac is being held on 0,000 bail for the San Diego charges, said George Modlin, deputy district attorney. But he also remains jailed as a fugitive from New York, where authorities say he violated the terms of his parole on Sept. 20 by leaving the state. San Diego police arrested Dulac Friday after officers recognized him walking in the 1500 block of Imperial Avenue. New York authorities said last week that Dulac had been spotted at a San Diego bus station and in San Marcos. According to media reports out of New York, Dulac was released on parole in 2015. He served more than 20 years in prison for raping a woman in 1992. 953

SAN CARLOS, Calif. (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a suspect caught on video stealing a bike from a San Carlos garage in late October. According to police, the theft happened on the 6600 block of Bell Bluff Avenue on October 25 around 2 p.m. Police say the suspect backed his truck into the victim’s garage before using bolt cutters to cut a lock and steal a M80 mountain bike. According to police, the theft wasn’t the first time mountain bikes were stolen from the same home. On October 13 and 15, the victim had two other mountain bikes stolen from the garage. The total value of the three bikes is ,000, police say. At this time, it’s unknown if the same suspect is responsible for all three thefts. The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s or 40s with short, blonde hair and a full beard.
