Last Thursday, just past noon and eight minutes after Samantha Sanchez left her home on Olive Drive, she got an alert of noise near her door.When she got home, she saw her front door, busted and wide open."Felt violated. Disturbing," said Sanchez.A motion activated camera she had just installed to monitor her dog Harley - who suffers from epilepsy and is prone to frequent seizures - had captured part of what happened. On the video, the sounds of something being jammed into the door can be heard. Harley then starts to growl. The video stops and then skips 12 seconds. In the next images, Harley is seen sitting, staring at an open door. Sanchez believes the intruder never got inside because of her 30 lb. Frenchie."Thank God for Harley," said Sanchez.When it comes to Frenchies, there are snorter and non-snorters. Harley is definitely the former."You can see how he would be mistaken for a bigger, more aggressive dog just by how loud he is," said Sanchez.Sanchez cant help but smile when she thinks about what greeted the burglar at the door."Harley is my hero. He saved us," said Sanchez.His actions unfolded even though he may have needed the saving. A fresh urine stain that day meant he likely had a seizure during or after the break-in. VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Californians are getting ready for a new set of businesses to reopen after June 12, 2020. Last Friday, the state released specific COVID-19 guidelines for several industries, including gyms, bars, and hotels. Vista Fitness owner Brian Belasco is setting up cones in his parking lot to create social distancing spots for his patrons. He's doing this well in advance of the state's gym reopenings on June 12."Being able to reopen means the world to us," Belasco said. Last Friday, Gov. Gavin Newsom released specific guidelines for the next group of industries allowed to reopen with modifications, no sooner than June 12, 2020. They include gyms, schools, film production, professional sports, bars and wineries, hotels, cardrooms, family entertainment, museums, and zoos. Since mid-March, Belasco said his trainers have been successfully teaching online workout classes. "We just finished a virtual challenge," Belasco said. "We had members losing up to 30 pounds in 28 days."But he said he is ready to see his members in person. "It's the camaraderie, especially times like right now, bringing people together that is our specialty," Belasco said. VISTA, CA (KGTV) — The man accused of intentionally driving a U-Haul van into a crowd of people outside of an Encinitas bar, pleaded not guilty to serious charges in a Vista courtroom Wednesday.Christian Davis, 28, stood next to an attorney with his head down as he was formally charged with two counts of attempted premeditated murder, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of felony driving under the influence of alcohol.Deputy District Attorney, Kim Coulter, said the incident early Sunday morning started at the Saloon and Shelter bar when Davis was kicked out.RELATED: Video shows driver slamming into crowd outside Encinitas bar"He was asked to leave because he was highly intoxicated and it was time for him to go," said Coulter.Once he was kicked out, Coulter said he got into a verbal argument with two bouncers, then threatened them."It escalated and culminated with Davis telling the security guards 'you're going to regret doing this, I’m going to come back and I’m going to kill you,'" she said.Moments later, witnesses saw the U-Haul heading for a crowd of people standing outside of the bars.RELATED: Man arrested after driving into crowd outside Encinitas barThe incident was captured on a passerby's dash cam video."He reversed out of a 7-Eleven and he came barreling down a sidewalk in front of Shelter bar, right into a crowd of people," said Coulter. "It’s our position that he used the U-Haul passenger van as a deadly weapon."Good Samaritans rushed to hold Davis in place until deputies arrived and arrested him. Sadly, two men who were outside of the bar at the wrong time were seriously hurt."A 25-year-old victim has had a severe injury to his leg, he’s had his third surgery today," said Coulter.The other victim, a 24-year-old, was also left hospitalized with severe injuries."He has two collapsed lungs, fractured ribs, a broken arm and he did spend time in the ICU," she said.Bail was set at million. If Davis is released on bail, he will wear an alcohol monitoring bracelet.He is due in court for a preliminary hearing on March 17. 2095

(KGTV) -- Authorities are searching for a suspect they say groped a 14-year-old girl at a Vista restaurant.According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, a man walked into the Panda Express on Main Street in Vista and grabbed a 14-year-old on the buttocks on March 21.The department says the man then left the restaurant driving a black sedan.The suspect is described a black man between 35 to 45-years-old who is five feet, nine inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds.Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. 573
