Popular digital marketplace Groupon has changed its cancellation policy after some people complained it was too restrictive.Before, once you purchased something in the marketplace, you had 24 hours to cancel your purchase. However, some businesses changed their hours of operation or how many people the business could support at once thanks to the pandemic, so customers would be losing their money on these purchases.Now, Groupon offers customers 72 hours to cancel any purchases, just in case. Even with the extended grace period though, some say it's still a good idea to call ahead and double-check how a business is operating."Figuring out what the business looks like, have their hours been affected, are they temporarily closed because of COVID and if they are open it’s not a bad idea to call and see if they are honoring the group because so many businesses are being affected by COVID," Sara Kemerer, a Tri-State public relations specialist with the Better Business Bureau, said to WCPO.On its coronavirus update page, Groupon said if your voucher was extended past its expiration date, you'd receive an email with the new expiration date.Groupon also said you can check your My Groupons on your account to see if the expiration date has been extended. (KGTV) — San Diego Sheriff's deputies Saturday were investigating a homicide at a North County apartment complex.Sheriff's deputies responded to the Sofi apartment complex on Midland Rd. at about 1:45 a.m., deputies said.Early Saturday morning, the San Diego Sheriff's Department received a call from Pomerado Hospital in Poway of a man who was brought in with a gunshot wound. Just after 3:00 a.m, Michael Walker died at the hospital.10News spoke to a neighbor, Christine Zobel. She was woken up at around 1:45 am after hearing commotion upstairs. "There was an altercation in the apartment on top of my children's room, and there was a gunshot that went through the wall and killed a man that was sleeping," Zobel said. Minutes after the shooting, Zobel saw Walker's wife drive him to the hospital. But he did not make it. "That could've gone through the floor and into my kids' room, or anybody around us could've been affected from this reckless event," Zobel said. Saturday afternoon, Sheriff's Homicide detectives arrested Manuula Save for murder. The investigation is ongoing. Political leaders on both sides of the aisle are stressing the importance of wearing masks.That now includes Republicans like Vice President Mike Pence and the governor of Arkansas, Asa Hutchinson.On the Democratic side, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says a federal mandate on face coverings is long overdue.Rodica Damian, an assistant professor of psychology at the University of Houston, tells us seeing prominent political figures accept masks will influence individual decisions.Damian says there's two main sources of what drives behavior, personality and social context. Identifying with a certain political group adds social context.“A lot of people who don't wear masks think they're not wearing masks because they're kind of independent thinking, but it's very likely they're also following social norms,” said Damian. “They're just following social norms of a group that thinks you shouldn't wear masks.”When it comes to personality, Damian says people who are more responsible, rule-following, and pro-social tend to wear masks. Those who don't may have higher levels of narcissism or be more impulsive.“We're all on a continuum, so I don't want to put people in categories, so depending on where you fall on that continuum on each of these traits, they're all going to feed into your decision,” said Damian.Damian says we should remember that across the country and across party lines, the majority of people are strongly in favor of wearing masks. 1465
