He then served 12-months in confinement at Naval Consolidated Brig Miramar in California before being released with a Bad Conduct Discharge in 2014. He was also reduced in grade to E-1. David Goldfein directed the Air Force Inspector General in collaboration with the Defense Department Inspector General to conduct a complete review of the Kelley case and relevant policies and procedures.Kelley was then charged with animal cruelty – neglect or mistreatment in 2014. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Loved ones gathered at Sunset Cliffs Friday to remember a high school student who died after jumping from 20 feet up, and drowning.10News learned the 15-year-old Anthony Womack and some friends skipped school to spend time at Sunset Cliffs on Wednesday.His friends told San Diego Lifeguards that the teen jumped into the water but immediately started to panic. The friends said they were unaware that Womack did not know how to swim.Friday night more than 100 people gathered to remember and mourn his loss."It was amazing seeing him every single day, seeing how happy he was walking to class," student Christian Perez said."I was walking to PE and heard someone say Anthony's drowning, and I ran up to them and said what happened and they said Anthony, Anthony's dead. Right when I heard that my whole body just froze, I had no words to say, I just started bursting out tears," he said.As the news spread, Christian said everyone was stunned, "the whole school was quiet, walking through, all the friends, it felt empty not having him there."Anthony's Grandma spoke with friends who were at the cliffs the day he died, giving her closure knowing exactly what happened. She also said it was only the second time he ever ditched school."He passed but he's still here, he's in all their hearts, their eyes and their minds, they all know him," Anthony's uncle, Garney Crews, said.At the vigil Crews brought the students together on the cliff, where Anthony jumped, "they had all their heads down, they were mourning , we don't want that. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Iconic TV host Regis Philbin, who has roots in San Diego television history, has died at the age of 88, multiple news outlets report.According to a family statement obtained by PEOPLE, Philbin passed away from natural causes Friday night.Philbin returned to his roots in 2018 with a visit to 10News.After a stint in the United States Navy, he moved to San Diego where he launched a career in broadcast. He was able to book many top celebrities including Jerry Lewis, Ronald Reagan, Danny Thomas, and Liberace.His talk show, which was produced at the now KGTV studios from 1961 to 1965, aired live from 11:30 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. every Saturday night."The show became a big hit so it was time to go to Hollywood, I guess, so I did," said Philbin.Philbin moved his show to Los Angeles, before being hired in 1967 as the sidekick for a national talk show, "The Joey Bishop Show." SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- If you have ever visited Lake Miramar, you know it is home to Chinese geese. But one goose, in particular, is healing both man and fellow beast. Louie is hard to miss He's the only white Chinese goose left at the lake and he's a bit of a celebrity.Dave Brandenburgh works at the concession and bait store at the lake and feeds the geese every day."Best part of my day is feeding the kids ... they always want food, but Louie is the one you have to watch out for, one minute he will be eating out of your hand and the next minute he will take my leg off!" Brandenburgh says.Nearly 100 visitors a day want to know where the cranky, white goose named Louie is located. But he has a soft spot for a little abandoned duck, named Alphie."This new little person thinks he's a goose, his bottom feathers haven't developed yet. Louie has taken him under his wing and adopted him," said Brandenburgh.But Louie's true love is a woman named "Mother Goose.""He just loves her and she's the goose whisperer," said Brandenburgh.Louie is known to attack but when he sees Mindy Dreiserd he turns to mush. She has visited him every day for 4 years. He's never tried to bite her. She can hug and even pick him up. When he had a respiratory infection, she nursed him back to health. And when she struggled with alcoholism and depression he was there for her."He's been the reason I've been sober ... that connection and desire ... he makes me happy when I question why sober anyway," Dreiserd said.With Lake Miramar garnering increased attention, the City of San Diego is reminding visitors to not feed the animals.In a statement, the city said: "For the safety of the public, it is against the rules for anyone to feed ducks, geese or any other wild animals at City of San Diego reservoirs." 1800
