SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are asking that additional victims come forward in a San Diego sexual assault case. According to police, Seth Roberts, 18, was arrested on December 5 for multiple sexual assaults around San Diego County that happened between early October and late November. Based on the circumstances of the cases, the San Diego Police Department Sex Crimes Unit is looking for additional victims or anyone with information. According to police, Roberts reportedly identified himself to young women and befriended them by telling them he’s from out-of-state before sexually assaulting them. According to public records, Roberts was previously arrested in Oklahoma for harboring a runaway child felon. Records also show that in April of 2018, a permanent protective order was issued against Roberts in Oklahoma. The order was filed on behalf of a 16-year-old who says Roberts inappropriately touched her even after she asked him to stop. The protective order goes on to say the victim's mother wanted criminal charges filed, but none are listed. He is currently being held on ,250,000 bail. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — New data released by the San Diego County Office of Education show three-fourths of all K-12 students in the County are now studying online and experts believe that number will increase by the start of the new year.Poway parent, Caroline Epps, told her three children recently that they would be going back to virtual learning."I could tell they were disappointed," Epps said. "It's been nice having them there even though it's been such a short time. It's going to be a little difficult having them at home the whole day again."Poway Unified is one of the few school districts that are still offering modified in-person instruction, only to elementary students. But earlier this week, the district announced they would be recommending all students to revert to distance learning after winter break."My oldest will have the most difficult time with that because her assignments are more complex," Epps said.The decision comes after another surge in COVID-19 cases. Bob Mueller with the County Office of Education says 75% of K-12 students are now learning remotely, up from 68% last month."We are seeing the impact of gatherings for Thanksgiving," Mueller said. "It's likely that we will see the surge deepen for a time as we feel the impact of gatherings for the December holidays."School staff getting sick or having to quarantine are resulting in a serious staffing shortage."We are seeing unprecedented demand for substitutes," Mueller said. We need more people to work in those roles than we've ever needed before."Epps says while it is not ideal, she understands the situation. So she and her children will have to adapt and overcome."I don't think anyone wants the school year to be the way it has been," Epps said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One person has been arrested Friday in connection with two threatening notes targeting La Jolla High School found off-campus.It's not clear whether the person was a student of the school.In a letter to parents Thursday, La Jolla High Principal Charles Podhorsky alerted the community of the notes that made mention to Oct. 31 and Dec. 10.RELATED: Point Loma Nazarene University classes canceled due to FBI investigation into possible threatPodhorsky alerted parents to the arrest Friday, and noted, "In an abundance of caution, we still plan to have additional officers on campus on these dates."It wasn't confirmed where the notes were found in the community, but students told 10News one of the notes were found at a nearby 7-Eleven location.Podhorsky also reminded parents to talk with their children regarding the notes and “If you see something, say something.”Any suspicious activity can be reported to either the Students Speak Out/Crime Stoppers hotline at 619-275-8240 or to San Diego Police at 619-531-2000. 1094

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Providing hungry children with food during the school year is a problem many institutions seek out solutions to, but may struggle with during the summer months outside of school.Sweetwater Union High School District is offering free meals to children at two locations from June 10 - 28 as part of their "Seamless Summer" feeding program. Children must be 18-years-old and younger to qualify for the free meal.No registration is needed and the meals are absolutely free, according to the school district.Children can receive the free meals at Montgomery High School (3250 Palm Ave., San Diego) or Sweetwater Union High School (2900 Highlands Ave., National City) Monday through Friday from 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. 740

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police are searching for a man they say snuck through a window into a Pacific Beach home and sexually assaulted a sleeping woman.10News met 25-year-old Christine Mansour, skateboarding along the beach.   The entrepreneur has lived in PB for the last three years, and so far, she loves her neighborhood. "There is a bit of homeless people honestly, but I've never felt unsafe," Mansour said. That is until a manhunt for a suspected rapist unfolded in her area. On Oct. 1, police said 55-year-old Jeffrey Hanze, also known as "Jeffrey Hanre," snuck into a home in the 900 block of Chalcedony Street, located off Mission Boulevard, just before 2 a.m. Once inside, police say he sexually assaulted a woman as she was sleeping, before fleeing the area in an unknown direction."I feel very sorry for her. I hope she is okay," Mansour said. Police said Hanze has been on the run ever since. We went to Hanze's Pacific Beach address nearby. Instead of Hanze, we met 75-year-old Janet Eveleigh, who told us she moved in eight months ago. Yesterday afternoon, she said police came over, searching for Hanze. "There were two at the door, and three over there, and they had guns," Eveleigh said. She told them she had never seen the man in her life. 10News also looked into Hanze's criminal past. We found he has at least two felonies out of San Diego, and was charged with several sex crimes in Arizona in 2011, including Public sexual indecency, indecent exposure to a person 15 years or more, and disorderly conduct.
