LOUISVILLE, Colo. – A woman in Louisville, Colordao died after she was struck by a falling tree branch during Tuesday’s windstorm, a spokesperson for the police department said Wednesday, making her death the first in the state caused by the near-hurricane winds.The woman, who has not been identified, stopped to rest under a tree while she was moving into an apartment in the area of Walnut Street and Garfield Avenue at around 2 p.m.The spokesperson said that’s when a large branch broke off due to the winds and struck her in the head.She was taken to a hospital, but it’s not clear when the woman died as the police department only learned of her passing on Wednesday.The Boulder County Coroner’s Office will be conducting an autopsy, but even though foul play is not suspected, detectives will be in attendance.The Boulder Daily Camera reports there were 89 mph wind gusts in Louisville, the highest recorded in Boulder County on Tuesday. 962

MANAGUA, Nicaragua (AP) — Hurricane Eta is quickly gaining force as it heads for Central America, threatening massive flooding and landslides across a vulnerable region. The National Hurricane Center says the storm has 150 mph sustained winds, as of Monday evening, and is gaining speed as it approaches land. The hurricane was just 6 mph shy of category 5 strength. Eta is expected to hit along the Nicaragua-Honduras border, with landfall coming sometime on Tuesday. The rainfall is expected to be heavy, it could be three feet in some places. The storm surge is predicted to get as high as 12-18 feet above normal tide. "Through Friday evening, heavy rainfall from Eta will likely lead to catastrophic, life-threatening flash flooding and river flooding across portions of Central America, along with landslides in areas of higher terrain. Flash and river flooding is also possible across Jamaica, southeast Mexico, El Salvador, southern Haiti and the Cayman Islands," according to the advisory from the NHC. 1021

Trump was also at Mar-a-Lago at the time of Cohen's visit.Another source said that after the April 2018 FBI raid on Cohen's office and home, people close to the President assured Cohen that Trump would take care of him. And Cohen believed that meant that the President would offer him a pardon if he stayed on message. It is unclear who specifically reached out to Cohen."The President of the United States never indicated anything to Michael, or anyone else, about getting a pardon," said Rudy Giuliani, the President's attorney. "Pardons are off the table, but it's not a limitation on his power in the future to pardon in any case."Cohen's lawyers could not be reached for comment.Following the raid on Cohen's home and office, Cohen's attorneys had a legal defense agreement with Trump and his attorneys. Marine Sergeant Richard Murphy was missing in action for more than seven decades in a World War II battle on the Pacific front.Murphy’s amphibious landing craft got stuck on a reef and everyone had to abandon ship to get to shore. He stayed behind to help another wounded Marine."That’s when shell fire came in and blew up the craft and Uncle Richard and his fellow marine were never seen again alive," said Jerry Murphy, Richard’s nephew.Jerry and his cousin Jeanne Robinson’s DNA were used to identify Richard’s remains that washed up on the beach in Sia Pan in 1944. Jerry, along with his cousins, had never met Sergeant Murphy, yet the family bond is strong."It’s an amazing family experience it’s got us all here together," said Jerry.Sgt. Murphy had more than just his duties as a fighting Marine."Uncle Richard, in addition to carrying his pack as a marine and his M-1 rifle, had a typewriter with him because he was a war correspondent," said Jerry.Funerals are usually a solemn occasion."But this is a celebratory time,"Jerry said. "It’s a happy and upbeat type of event and so extraordinary."Robinson is Sgt. Murphy’s niece and never met her uncle but was well aware of his military achievements. "He was always with us. He was that handsome Marine looking out of the picture frame, he was that empty chair at Thanksgiving, he was always the person we heard stories about," said Robinson.And the man of those stories is home where the family finally could reach out and touch their uncle — a Marine, an American, a hero. One of Sgt. Murphy’s last correspondents home was to his mother. "He said, 'you know, I don’t want to die but I’m not afraid to die for my county' and that just makes us oh so proud of Uncle Richard," said Jerry.Sgt.
