Turns out neighbors had seen the same woman running in and out of yards. At least one of them had called police. Soon after, video shows a woman at Utz's front door. CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Chula Vista City Council candidate Andrea Cardenas announced Thursday that she tested positive for coronavirus. In a statement released to the media, Cardenas said she self-isolated roughly two weeks ago after feeling symptoms of the virus. Cardenas said she went to urgent care, where she lost consciousness twice. She was sent home with medication before being notified she'd come into contact with multiple people who tested positive for COVID-19. CHULA VISTA (CNS) - Four people were displaced when a fire damaged their South Bay home Sunday morning, authorities said.Dispatchers were alerted at about 9:20 a.m. to a fire at a house near the intersection of Madden and Donax avenues, according to the San Diego Police Department. The area is just west of Beyer Boulevard.Firefighters found a small fire in the attic, and were able to get everyone out of the house and extinguish the flames, a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department official said. The cause of the fire wasn't immediately known. The Red Cross was called to assist with finding shelter for the home's occupants, the Fire-Rescue official said. 662

(KGTV) — Homeowners in east Chula Vista are hoping a meeting with police and city leaders will address a number of crime concerns in the area.The meeting started with an idea by Josh Roberts. Roberts lives in the community and was tired of seeing people complaining and reporting crime on Facebook instead of directly to the police department. According to Crimemapping, there were 44 crimes reported from July 5 to August 1 in a two mile radius in the 91915 zip code. The crimes range from burglaries to vehicle thefts to assault. REPORT: Chula Vista's rapid growth poses major challenges to public safety, trafficHowever, last December Wallet Hub ranked Chula Vista the safest city in the county and the third safest in the state. CVPD says community safety is their highest priority and plans to address any concerns at the meeting. Chula Vista Police and city councilman Steve Padilla have both confirmed their attendance.
