SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Several homes were evacuated and a bomb squad called to the scene after hundreds of rounds of ammo were discovered inside a Mira Mesa home Wednesday night. Authorities were called to the home on Avenida Del Gato and Valdosta Ave between 4 and 5 p.m. According to San Diego Police, a man was cleaning his deceased relative’s home when he found the ammo. Also discovered inside the home were mortar rounds and rocket rounds. Military ordnance experts, FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were all called to the home. So far, authorities say they’re about 75 percent through the investigation. All the items discovered inside the home are so far inert, Jeff Ring, Commander of the Bomb Squad told 10News. The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department says six nearby homes had to be evacuated. A total of 14 adults and one child who live nearby had to leave. LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Rapper Snoop Dogg and singer Stevie Wonder were among those who took the Staples Center stage Thursday to honor rapper Nipsey Hussle, who was gunned down in front of a clothing store he owned in the South Los Angeles community he was dedicated to revitalizing. The ceremony was the first of its kind at Staples Center since a memorial service for Michael Jackson was held there in 2009.Thousands attended the service, which got began about an hour late due to long lines of people trying to get into the arena.
