MILAN, Italy, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- China on Thursday pledged at least 100 million yuan's (16 million U.S. dollars) worth of additional aid to help West Africa fight the deadly Ebola outbreak.

Hailing the close friendship between his country and China as well as the two sides' ever-deepening cooperation in various areas, Nazarbayev said Kazakhstan supports the initiatives of the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road which were proposed by China, and is willing to cooperate with China in such areas as economy and trade, interconnectivity, and the deep processing of energy materials.

The two countries decided to take it as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation in environmental science, with focus on water, land and air of future cities.
