SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Home sales in San Diego County accelerated in July after declining on an annual basis for more than a year.New data from real-estate tracker CoreLogic shows 3,988 home sales in July, up 10.1 percent from July 2018. That marks the first time since April 2018 that home sales in the county did not decline on an annual basis, when seasonal factors do not impact the data. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Dozens of dogs affected by Hurricane Michael have a new home in San Diego.The San Diego Humane Society is taking in 93 dogs from various shelters impacted by the category 4 storm last week along the panhandle.The dog-only charter flight landed at Gillespie Field Thursday afternoon with dozens of volunteers helping unload them.The flight carried pets transferred from St. Joseph Bay Humane Society, the Escambia County Animal Shelter and the Humane Society of Bay County.The Humane Society says the dogs still need to be spayed, neutered and micro-chipped, but they hope to start adopting them out in two weeks. 649

But while frustration is setting in, CIF is doing everything it can to get the kids back on the field. There's nothing like high school football and the sights and sounds of Friday Night Lights, or a slam dunk on the basketball court. Unfortunately, because of COVID-19, it's wait-and-see for every high school athlete."I think it's very disappointing. Are kids, are families, are schools and communities have been waiting quite a long time and it's been tough," says San Diego Section CIF Commissioner Joe Heinz.There was hope of a December start, but as COVID-19 surged, it was negated by the California Department of Public Health. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Deputies credited hikers for calling 911, saving a man who had fallen through the ice at Big Laguna Lake Sunday morning. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department received a call around 11:45 about a man who trapped in the lake after falling through ice. According to the department, the man, who is in his 60s, tried to ski on the ice, but fell in because the ice was too thin. A helicopter was able to quickly descend on the lake, lowering a flotation device down to the man. “He knew he didn’t have much more in him. He knew he had to get out of that water.
