LUBBOCK, TX — A 9-year-old girl from Texas who has been missing since 2016 was found safely on Monday after the story of her disappearance was featured on the television show "Live PD".Mariah Martinez was last seen on October 18, 2016, when she was taken from her home in Lubbock, Texas.On Friday night, the A&E show had a segment that chronicled the events that led to Mariah's disappearance. According to Fox News, Mariah's mother, Amanda, was close to losing custody of her three children and decided to take them and flee instead of going to court.A court order was issued after Amanda’s boyfriend allegedly punched Mariah's 5-year-old brother in the nose and threatened to kill the family by driving their car into a pond.The Live PD segment explained that in January 2017, police were tipped off about the family's whereabouts. Police found Amanda and two of the children, but not Mariah.The mother was arrested on felony charges, but Mariah's whereabouts remained a mystery.The television program ended by asking viewers to contact the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children if they knew anything.NCMEC posted to Facebook on Tuesday that Mariah was found in New Mexico following a viewer’s tip.The Lubbock Police Department also released a statement saying they were thankful to NCMEC for helping find Mariah.  1398

MEDINA, Ohio — Police believe the potential active shooter situation at Cleveland Clinic-Medina Hospital was a hoax. The all-clear was given around 3:30 p.m.Medina police chief Edward Kinney said they got a call at 1:30 p.m. that there was a woman with a gun in a medical building next to the hospital. Police secured the hospital and searched the facility floor-by-floor. Kinney said they believe it was a hoax and they are trying to find the person responsible. He said the individual will face arrest and prosecution. They had 150 law enforcement officers at the scene. Police asked that the public avoid the hospital until police gave the all clear. The Cleveland Clinic tweeted out about the situation at 2:23 p.m.: 763

MEXICO CITY (AP) — President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador launched an ambitious plan Saturday to stimulate economic activity on the Mexican side of the U.S.-Mexico border, reinforcing his country's commitment to manufacturing and trade despite recent U.S. threats to close the border entirely.Mexico will slash income and corporate taxes to 20 percent from 30 percent for 43 municipalities in six states just south of the U.S., while halving to 8 percent the value-added tax in the region. LUTZ, Fla. — Sheriff's deputies say a man who broke into a WWE star's home on Sunday had hoped to take her hostage and said claim he had been planning the crime for eight months.The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said on early Sunday morning, the suspect, 24-year-old Phillip Thomas, entered a home at Promenade at Lake Park in Lutz.Detectives learned Thomas parked his car at Idle Wild Church earlier that night, walked to the house, cut a hole in the patio screen and remained there for about three to four hours. He was watching and listening through the windows, officials said.After the homeowner went to bed, Thomas came in through the back sliding door, which activated the home alarm. It prompted the homeowner to look out the window and spot Thomas.The homeowner and a guest left the house in a car and called 911.When deputies arrived, Thomas was still inside the house.According to public records, the house is owned by WWE wrestler Sonya Deville.Deputies discovered Thomas was carrying a knife, plastic zip ties, duct tape, mace and other items.Through the investigation, detectives discovered Thomas lived in South Carolina and came to Lutz specifically targeting the Deville."We know the suspect was completely obsessed with the victim, and they had been trying to engage in a conversation for several years, but were unsuccessful. And then, Sunday night is when they tried to confront the victim," said Natalia Verdina, a public information officer with HCSO.Thomas told deputies he was planning to take the homeowner hostage."Our deputies are unveiling the suspect's disturbing obsession with this homeowner who he had never met, but stalked on social media for years," Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "It's frightening to think of all the ways this incident could have played out had the home alarm not gone off and alerted the homeowner of an intruder.
