According to police, the woman entered the bank on the 9200 block of Miramar Road just before 6 p.m. Thursday. Police say the woman demanded money from the teller, who handed the suspect an unknown amount of cash. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Congresswoman Susan Davis wants the Navy to analyze whether there is a national security threat related to sewage spills along the US-Mexico border.The military is set to build a billion Navy SEAL training facility near Imperial Beach. The area has experienced 160 days of sewage spill closures to parts of its shoreline over the past three years, Davis reports.Davis wants a Navy assessment of how construction and future training at the site could be affected by the spills. “We need a whole of government solution to the sewage spills,” said Davis. “We know the environmental and economic impact these spills have. What we don’t know, with the Navy planning to stage training operations in potentially contaminated waters, are the national security concerns. The Navy should take a look at this and coordinate with relevant agencies to assess what can be done to prevent future spills.”Davis, a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee, wants to include language in this year’s defense bill to get a report from the Navy on the matter.“The Navy’s coastal campus will be vital for national security,” Davis said. “The last thing we want is our elite Navy SEALs training in water contaminated with sewage. Nor do we want training operations delayed.”Davis is requesting the Navy work with the Department of State, the EPA, the Department of Homeland Security, the International Boundary Water Commission, and the Department of the Interior to assess how national security will be affected by future spills and how they can be prevented. 1598

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police and Crime Stoppers released photos Wednesday in the search for the burglars responsible for taking half a million dollars’ worth of items during break-in at the Fashion Valley Hermes de Paris store.Up to 10 people got out of three vehicles at the north end of the mall about 4:15 a.m. on Sunday, January 18. Surveillance video shows the group approaching the store and using a pry bar to open the front door.The group stole purses, jewelry and clothing worth 0,000 in just two minutes.RELATED: San Diego mall burglars steal from HermesPolice said the group wore hooded sweatshirts and gloves. The vehicles used for the heist were a white Chevy Suburban and two blue sedans with paper license plates.Investigators conducting follow-ups uncovered new surveillance photos of people they believe to be responsible for the crime.The pictures show three men inside a market. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police officers babysat for a man who needed to go to the hospital Friday night but didn't have anyone to watch his two young daughters. According to the department, officers received a radio call from a young father living in the Alpha apartments. The man reportedly told authorities he was in need of hospital care. “Unfortunately, he had no family or friends to help watch the girls,” the department said.After the man was taken to the hospital, two officers stayed behind to watch the 2-year-old and 4-year-old before taking them to the hospital where they were reunited with their dad.“Dad was emotional and grateful for the support. If someone needs help, we'll be there to respond,” the department continued in the Facebook post.No emergency is too small for our officers.
