PHOENIX— A man is accused of doing dozens of beer runs at Valley Circle K locations since late last year.Phoenix police report that on Aug. 15 they arrested 45-year-old Larry Pinkney for 60 thefts at two Circle K stores in south Phoenix. Police say from November 2017 until Aug. 15 of this year, Pinkney stole cases of Budweiser and Bud Light from Circle K. Nearly all of the thefts were from the store near 24th Street and Southern Avenue. Surveillance pictures and video allegedly show Pinkney taking the beer from the stores in each of the incidents. Police say during each incident he carried the beer in the same way and exited in the same direction. In many of the burglaries, he wore the same clothes. Upon his arrest, Pinkney reportedly told police that he sells the beer for a case. Circle K reports the total loss at over ,500.Pinkney has been charged with 60 counts of theft. 945

PARADISE, Calif. (KGTV) -- A woman who owns property near the location where a deadly wildfire started in Northern California says she got an email from utility Pacific Gas & Electric Co. last week. It said crews needed to come on her property because their transmission system was causing sparks.It's still not clear what caused the massive fire that has killed 29 people. OTAY MOUNTAIN, Calif. (KGTV) — A Border Patrol agent and one man were taken to a nearby hospital after suffering heat-related illness on Otay Mountain.At about 1 p.m., Border patrol agents started a rescue involving four individuals, including one Border Patrol agent and three suspected migrants, according to U.S. Border Patrol.When agents arrived, an agent as located and taken to the hospital. One man was also found and sent to the hospital.Border agents were still searching for the two other people in the Otay Mountain Wilderness area, according to Border Patrol. 579

Police in Paris have fired tear gas and used water cannon against protesters on the Champs Elysées, in the center of the French capital.The "yellow vest" protests, which began as a campaign against rising gas prices, have morphed into a wider demonstration against the government of President Emmanuel Macron in recent weeks.Police say they have mobilized 3,000 officers in Paris to contain the 8,000 protesters. A security perimeter has been set up in the city center, with government buildings protected. Three people have been arrested so far.At a news conference on Saturday, French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner blamed the clashes on far-right extremists infiltrating the demonstrations."Today, the far right has mobilized," he told reporters. PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — Drivers continue to share stories of scary moments and narrow escapes as there are more reports of Kia Souls catching fire.New complaints led I-Team Investigator Jackie Callaway to ask why some vehicles weren't included in the automaker's past recalls for engine fire risks.Brek Badgley says his 2015 Kia Soul burst into flames while rolling down I-75 northbound in Hernando County last December. He said the fire gutted the entire vehicle within minutes.“Just tossed my phone out of the window and started throwing stuff out of the car,” Badgley said.In April 2019, Kia recalled nearly 380,000 Kia Souls made between 2012 and 2016 over a defect that they say could cause a fire. We checked Brek’s VIN and found his Soul wasn't included in that recall.The I-Team discovered not every Soul made during those years was taken off the road. Kia says that's because even within the same model year, vehicles can have different equipment.Shelly Parks' 2015 Kia Soul was among those not recalled. Parks says it caught fire as she drove near Columbus, Ohio, last summer."We hear someone yell fire, and by the time we had noticed anything, there was fire coming from underneath the car," Parks said.She told the I-Team the car was still rolling to a stop when both she and her friend jumped out.“I watched the car roll past me on fire."The I-Team also found 2018 Kia Souls catching fire, according to three reports filed with federal regulators. Kia reports these Soul fires are rare and can be caused by any number of factors not related to engine defects.In August, 34-year-old Jordan Carlton died of his injuries a year after his rented 2019 Kia Soul went up in flames as he drove down a Hawaiian highway.
