SAN DIEGO – Delegates at the California Democratic Party State Convention failed to endorse any candidates for U.S. Senate, governor and attorney general, denying Dianne Feinstein endorsement in her bid to stay seated in the U.S. Senate. The indecision sent shock through the party with 54 percent of the vote going to state Senate leader Kevin de Leon and 37 percent for Feinstein."The outcome of today's endorsement vote is an astounding rejection of politics as usual, and it boosts our campaign's momentum as we all stand shoulder to shoulder against a complacent status quo," de Leon said late Saturday in a prepared statement.Still, Feinstein holds a sizable lead over de Leon in statewide polls.Meanwhile, the gubernatorial vote was split between Lt. The company sells disaster supplies and emergency kits to big box stores like Home Depot and Lowes. They are also sold on Amazon."Once people feel it, then it's real, and it's going to happen to me, and with Thursday's 6.4, there was a lot of demand. With the 7.1, which is the largest earthquake in 20 years, the demand has been unprecedented," said Jeff Primes, President of Ready America. The disaster kits include food and water with a five-year shelf life, a manually operated charging station, light sticks, first aid necessities, and more. There's even a pet carrier with emergency supplies for a dog or cat."From a one person three-day kit that starts at about retail, all the way to a four-person retail deluxe kit for about 0," said Primes.The company is also home to the Big Shaker Earthquake Simulator. It's used to show people what a 6.8 magnitude earthquake feels like and the damage it can do. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Cold, windy, and rainy conditions have prompted the San Diego Housing Commission to activate inclement weather shelters this New Year’s Eve. The commission activates the Inclement Weather Shelter Program when temperatures drop below 50 degrees, the chance of rain is higher than 40 percent or in the case of sustained high winds. The program is a partnership between the commission, the city of San Diego, Father Joe's and Connections Housing. The commission also funds the program. Father Joe’s Villages tells 10News they can take in an additional 170 people this New Year's Eve, including children.They will convert two dining halls into temporary shelters, filling them with cots. “When you’re out there in the rain and you get wet and then this cold air, you feel a chill in your bones, that’s what those on the streets experience,” said Deacon Jim Vargas, President and CEO of Father Joe’s Villages. Homeless individuals will be given meals as well as dry clothes when they leave. San Diegans were reminded again this weekend that what was formerly known as Qualcomm Stadium is not the city's most glamorous place. The lights just turned off in the middle of San Diego State’s game winning drive against Stanford on Saturday. But the aging San Diego Stadium, as its currently known, appears to be primed for yet another new chapter - even as public officials debate how the site should be redeveloped.  San Diego County Credit Union, which already sponsors the Holiday bowl, is stepping up with 0,000 to place its name on the stadium until the end of next year.  But that's not all.  The credit union’s proposal to the City Council outlines plans to market the venue. (AP) — Jurors have reached a verdict in the case of a Southern California man charged with killing a family of four and burying their bodies in the desert.The San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office said Friday that the verdict in the case against 62-year-old Charles "Chase" Merritt will be read in court Monday.Merritt is charged with killing his business associate Joseph McStay, McStay's wife, Summer, and the couple's 3- and 4-year-old sons.RELATED: Dramatic closing arguments in McStay family murder trialThe family vanished from their San Diego County home in 2010.
