BEIJING, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese official who regulates investment activities in the country said Tuesday the government's measures encouraging private funds to enter more sectors have worked and helped stabilize investment growth this year.
"In this case, we're still confident that there will be no hard landing for China's economy," Robert Wihtol, director-general of ADB's east Asia department, said Thursday.
China's Finance Minister Xie Xuren said at the opening ceremony that China and the United States share different resource advantages, and strongly complement each other in economic development.
Rice is a staple food in China. The country produces 200 million tonnes of rice annually, accounting for more than 28 percent of the world's total.
The move, which followed three consecutive cuts from May to July, marks the third such increase this year, due to a rebound in international crude oil prices.
