SAN YSIDRO, Calif. (KGTV) -- The Department of Justice has filed complaints against 11 people believed to be in the caravan currently at the U.S.-Mexico border, accusing them of illegally entering the United States.Two Salvadorans, six Hondurans and three Guatemalans face the charges, CNN reports.10 of those charged face a misdemeanor chare for allegedly entering the U.S. illegally while another individual allegedly entered the country after being deported.A probable cause statement alleges many of those charged were seen in an area known as Goat Canyon on the U.S. side of the border. SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) -- San Marcos Unified School District teachers and parents flooded the school board meeting Tuesday night asking for the board to come to a contract agreement with their union. The meeting was standing room only. Union officials say they've been without a contract since last June and that they've tried to negotiate with the district. They're fighting for higher pay and smaller class sizes and getting all of these things in writing. There was no item on the agenda at Tuesday's meeting but the superintendent did address the teachers and parents directly during a presentation. Dr. Garcia told the crowd she hears them and appreciates them being present at the meeting but told them the issue with the union's request is a lack of adequate funding at the state level. Searching for a home can be exciting, and frustrating, at the same time. Now, a San Diego realtor is aiming to take the headache -- and heartache -- out of finding a new piece of property in San Diego.Realtor Lauren Taylor said people know within the first two minutes of entering a home whether they're interested or not. "So it really doesn't make sense for a homebuyer to visit a property they haven't experienced on video yet," she said. Taylor launched Savvy Homes Portal, a tool that helps realtors shoot at 360 degree virtual walkthrough of homes on the market. (KGTV) - New restrictions in place at the border designed to slow the spread of COVID-19 are also drastically slowing traffic.Some commuters reported waiting seven, eight, nine hours trying to cross into San Ysidro from Mexico over the weekend.A woman in her late 80's died Sunday while waiting in a car with family to cross into San Ysidro, according to reporting partner Televisa.Emilio Tamez owns three restaurants in the South Bay, including one in San Ysidro. Many of his employees live in Tijuana."They're just hurting more businesses, and they're hurting the people who are holding the economy right now," said Tamez.The U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency started implementing the new measures Friday. They're designed to discourage people from traveling to Mexico for non-essential travel."You've got this, history of many decades of people going across for work purposes or for business purposes things that have nothing to do with leisure or tourism, these are people whose livelihood depends on the border, so you're affecting that large group of people," said Gustavo De La Fuente, executive director of the Smart Border Coalition.De La Fuente said he understands the move to an extent."In some cases, people should stay home, if you want to go into Ensenada or Rosarito for tourism purposes, right now is not the best time to do it," said De La Fuente.A spokesman with CBP sent 10News a statement, that reads in part:"According to the U.S Customs and Border Protection, a recent survey of more than 100,000 travelers on the southwest border found that the vast majority of cross-border travel by U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents is for purposes that are not deemed essential.
