CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) – Police are investigating the death of a woman whose nude body was found in the middle of a Chula Vista street early Thursday morning.At around 12:30 a.m., a person called 911 to report a naked woman lying face down in the middle of the 200 block of Shasta Street, near Second Avenue.Responding police officers checked the woman and found she was not breathing and had no pulse.Despite CPR attempts, the woman -- described as Hispanic, in her 20s, and a Chula Vista resident -- was declared dead at the scene.Police told ABC 10News there was no immediate indication the woman was struck by a vehicle. On Friday, police identified the victim as 33-year-old Laura Rodriguez.Chula Vista police Lt. Dan Peak said, "It's very suspicious at this time. The manner of death is unknown. At this time, we don't know why this person was here and why they were left here in the roadway."Officers are questioning neighborhood residents as part of their investigation."It's a bit of a shock. This is a very quiet neighborhood ... About 20 minutes before she was found, I heard a vehicle revving up its engine and going around the corner," said neighbor Roger Murray.The Chula Vista Police Department is trying to locate witnesses or anyone with information regarding Rodriguez's death. CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - A Chula Vista high school student was arrested on suspicion of posting a threatening message on social media.Sweetwater Union High School District said they notified police Wednesday that a threat against Olympian High School was posted on social media. A student notified the administrators after school of the social media posting, according to Chula Vista Police.The threat was thought to be credible at the time, police said, and alluded to a student "becoming a school shooter."Chula Vista Police officers identified the poster as a 16-year-old 10th-grade student and took her into custody at her home Wednesday night. Police said the girl admitted to making the social media post "as a joke and thought it would be funny."Officers searched the students home but did not find any weapons. According to the district, officers do not believe any actual incident would have occurred.The student was arrested and taken to Juvenile Hall for making the threat.The Olympian High threat is the latest in a series of threats made against San Diego County schools in the weeks since the tragic high school shooting in Parkland, Florida, on Feb. 14.RELATED STORIES: 1206

(KGTV) – A stretch of Chula Vista’s famed Third Avenue will be closed every Sunday in August to allow for expanded outdoor dining and other activities, all while practicing social distancing.The Third Avenue Village Association announced that Third Avenue will be shut down to traffic from E Street through Center Street starting Sunday, Aug. 2.The cross streets of E Street, Davidson Street, and F Street will be open for vehicle traffic. CINCINNATI – Charles Adams went on a rampage before he died in police custody Wednesday, acting wildly and damaging residents’ property at a Westwood apartment complex, according to a resident and 911 callers."It was bizarre, so bizarre," India Lavender told Scripps station WCPO in Cincinnati.Lavender said the 36-year-old Adams jumped on her car and then jumped into her neighbor’s window."(Somebody) came and knocked on my door and told me there was a man standing on top of my car," Lavender said.  “I came out. He yelled at me and told me to call the police, somebody was chasing him,  and he literally jumped off my car into my neighbor's window."Adams damaged at least five others cars while calling out for help as he went along, residents said.“It definitely seemed as if he was hallucinating,” Lavender said. “In his mind, someone really was chasing him, 'cause he was trying to get everyone else in the building to see the other people that weren’t there."Body camera video of Adams' arrest shows him becoming increasingly lethargic and unresponsive after officers put him in handcuffs. At one point, while standing, he slumps forward until he is nearly bent double.When officers escort him outside and allow him to sit down against a railing, he begins to drool and twitch before losing consciousness. "Jeez," one officer says in the recording. "He's foaming at the mouth."His breathing stopped shortly after his eyes closed.The fire department gave Adams first aid, including CPR, but he died on the scene.It’s unclear what brought Adams to the apartment complex. Neighbors said they had never seen him."Officers did not use any type of force to subdue Mr. Adams during the arrest activity," Lt. Stephen Saunders, Cincinnati police public information officer, said in the statement. (KGTV) - Chula Vista boxer Andrea Medina has a chance to fulfill a lifelong dream before she even turns 21.Monday, she'll begin fighting in the Team USA Olypmic Team Trials for boxing, with a chance to go to the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo."I feel like this is my time," she says. "It's what I've been working for. It's exciting. I'm ready."Medina has been boxing since she was 5 years old. She's already won 16 National Championships.At the trials, she'll face 7 other women vying for two spots at the Team USA training center in Colorado Springs."I've already fought half of them," she says of the competition. "And I've sparred against the other half. So I know who I'm going up against."Medina's father, Juan, is a former boxer and serves as her trainer. He says she's the favorite to advance out of the double-elimination tournament."I'm biased, but if I were to put a percentage on it, I'd say we have a high 90's percent chance," he says.He also says he's proud of the way his daughter has dedicated her life to the sport and the pursuit of her dream."You have to prioritize. You can't chose other things over boxing," he says. "Boxing is a jealous sport. So you have to pretty much surrender yourself to the sport. She made that choice and now we're here.'In addition to her boxing, Medina is also a full-time student at San Diego State.
