So she and her neighbors decided to do something about it. They contacted the city attorney and took the owner of the house to court. “The judge found in our favor, so we were pleased with that,” said Plok. A babysitter is behind bars in New Mexico after allegedly leaving a 2-year-old girl in a hot car for several hours last week. The toddler, Zariah Hasheme, was pronounced dead when officers with the Hobbs Police Department responded to the scene in the 1800 block of N. Turner at about 1:27 p.m. on Sept. 17.
