During an appearance on ABC News Friday morning, Health and Human Services Director Alex Azar said that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) would grant Emergency Use Authorization to Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine.Azar added that while the process for Emergency Use Authorization has not been finalized, he expects Americans to receive initial doses of the vaccine by "Monday or Tuesday of next week."Azar's comments come a day after an FDA panel voted to recommend that the Pfizer vaccine be given Emergency Use Authorization. In a joint statement released Friday morning, FDA head Dr. Stephen Hahn and Dr. Peter Marks, the director of the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, said that the FDA would "rapidly work toward finalization and issuance of an emergency use authorization." They also said they had notified the CDC and federal authorities charged with distributing the vaccine "so they can execute their plans for timely vaccine distribution."The Pfizer vaccine has already been approved for emergency use in Canada and the United Kingdom. The U.K. began distributing initial doses earlier this week.The final push for a vaccine comes as cases of the virus spike to terrifying levels. More than 3,000 people died of COVID-19 on Wednesday and Thursday, according to the COVID Tracking Project, and with the virus spreading at record levels, health officials warn that deaths could increase further. 1423

EL CAJON (CNS and KGTV) - An East County man who admitted molesting an underage girl faces up to 10 years in state prison when he's sentenced March 27, prosecutors said.Shaun Crocker, 34, pleaded guilty Thursday at the El Cajon courthouse to two felony counts of committing a lewd act on a child for touching the unidentified victim, who was under the age of 14, inappropriately between September and November 2018.Prosecutors did not disclose the girl's exact age, nor would they confirm whether the defendant was related to sex offender Matthew Hedge, whose case drew headlines years after his conviction due to a judge's controversial decision to lift Hedge's sexually violent predator status and release him from custody without supervision.RELATED: Son of sex offender suspected of child molestation in San Diego CountyFollowing Crocker's arrest last year, a source told 10News that Crocker is Hedge's son.Hedge pleaded guilty in 1989 to molesting four children in the San Diego area and served 12 years in prison. He was committed to the sexually violent predator treatment program in 1997, but was released into outpatient treatment in 2005 in a trailer outside Donovan State Prison in Otay Mesa.His outpatient status was revoked within six weeks for violating terms of his release.After more than two years of in-patient hospital treatment, the court in October 2008 again granted Hedge's petition to be placed in outpatient treatment. In 2012, he was released without supervision after San Diego Superior Court Judge David Gill determined he no longer posed a danger to others and was unlikely to re-offend. 1624

You simply create a profile, begin a chat and then if you like the person, you can set up a time and place to meet. Another app is Skout. You can use it to meet new people, no matter where you are, even if you’re just visiting. "The app helps because you know the basic stuff about this person," explains Wei. "Do we share the same hobbies, do we like the same music, and do we like to do similar things going hiking, going out drinking or happy hour."  If apps aren’t for you, Wei says to do what you like to do and meet people that way. So, if you like working out, you can meet friends at the gym. But if you’re going to stay in your comfort zone, you need to push yourself a little. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - A possible vehicle break-in led to a deadly shooting in the East County early Sunday.El Cajon Police received a report of shots fired just after 1 a.m. near West Chase Avenue in El Cajon. Police said a homeowner was woken up by the sound of his dogs barking in the 1100 block of Mona Place and looked outside to see someone trying to break into his vehicle.The homeowner retrieved his handgun and went outside to confront the 32-year-old suspect, police said.A confrontation between the two occurred and the homeowner shot at the suspect multiple times, police said, striking him at least once.The suspect then took off in his own vehicle and crashed into the driveway of a nearby home in the 1000 block of West Chase Ave. Officers arrived to find him dead of a gunshot wound.Police have not released the identity of the homeowner or suspect. The homeowner is cooperating with officers. It's not yet clear if that person will face any criminal charges as a result of the shooting. 1054
