He snapped a photo and posted it on Facebook, where it has now been shared more than 100,000 times."I want to make public this great gesture of love that you displayed today with this baby," Marcos Heredia said on the post.The incidentThe incident took place at a hospital in the city of Berisso on August 14, which, coincidentally, is "National Day of the Female Officer" in Argentina.However, the photo began doing the social rounds this week.Heredia told CNN he didn't know why the hospital staff didn't feed the baby themselves.CNN reached out to the hospital and Ayala but didn't hear back.The Buenos Aires Provincial Police told CNN that Ayala spoke with hospital management before she breastfed the baby. The lake in California, where former "Glee" star Naya Rivera tragically drowned in July, has reopened and banned swimming.The Lake Piru Recreational Area reopened on Aug. 20, according to the park's Facebook page.The park had been closed since July 9, since the actress first went missing.The park continued to stay close due to the coronavirus pandemic and the wildfires ravaging California.Still, residents told TMZ that they believe the park's restrictions somehow related to Rivera drowning in the Ventura County lake.Since reopening, the park has put precautions, including a swimming ban, the park's website stated.The park says shore fishing, personal watercraft, and boating activities are permitted.Rivera went missing on July 8 while boating with her 4-year-old son at the lake. Ventura County Sheriff's Office said Rivera rented a boat at the lake and excursed her son.Authorities were alerted when other boaters later found Rivera's boat drifting in the northern portion of the lake with her son sleeping onboard.Rivera's body was found on July 13.At the time, Sheriff Bill Ayub said Rivera and her son were swimming when the actress began to get tired. He thinks Rivera mustered enough energy to get her son on the boat but couldn't climb back in herself.Investigators believe Rivera drowned in what appears to be a "tragic accident," the office wrote in a press release.On July 14, an autopsy by the Ventura County Medical Examiner revealed Rivera's death as drowning.Her death certificate, which was obtained by People and The Blast, said the actress died within a "manner of minutes."After Rivera's death, a petition on Change.org was created urging park officials to put signs up warning swimmers of how dangerous the lake was.According to the Los Angeles Times, seven people have drowned in the lake between 1994 and 2000. 1848

Over the years, everyone from Billy Joel to Cheryl Crow to Jimmy Buffet has graced the stage here. But it’s the smaller, less well-known artists who truly rely on a black box venue like this one.“It’s a purist’s room. It’s just a great old school style place,” explained owner Chris Cobb.Since March though, Exit/In and thousands of other venues like it across the country have been shut down--forced to close their doors because of the coronavirus.“It’s just not safe. It’s not safe to do what we do right now, unfortunately, and there’s no pivot option. We can’t curbside a concert, we can’t to-go a concert,” Cobb lamented.It’s that kind of daunting reality facing owners of clubs, venues and smaller music halls across the country. Many have already run out of money and most are out of time. Aside from the 57 employees that Cobb had to lay off, there are also closed signs now popping up on businesses around the neighborhood who rely on live shows to bring customers in.“We’re on the edge of a cliff with a huge number of venues right there at the edge and about to go over, and they won’t come back,” he added.While it’s not a giant stadium, venues like Exit/In are the kind of spaces where smaller artists get their start. In cities across the country, independent venues are deeply engrained in the culture of the communities they operate in.For musician Daniel Donato, not having a stage like Exit/In to play on has been difficult.“I want to create memories that people can go back to. I want to be somebody’s Friday night. And the first thing a musician plays is the venue, they don’t play their instrument, they play the venue they’re in,” Donato said.In addition to the income he’s lost, the 25-year-old musician is also missing out on a chance to refine his craft. There are countless musicians like him across the country stuck in a kind of painful limbo.“I have to have the energy of the people in the room, take that, put it in a guitar and make it something great,” he added.By the end of the year, live performance venues are expected to lose about billion on ticket sales alone. Because of the impending crisis facing smaller venues, nearly 2,800 have banded together to form the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA).A stunning 90 percent of venues in the organization say they will close by the end of the year without any federal assistance.“It’s happening and every day that goes by is a risk that it happens more, people have run out of money,” explained Audrey Fix Schaefer, who serves as the director of communication for the group.In recent months, NIVA has created the "Save Our Stages Act." It’s a billion grant program for independent venues with bi-partisan support. Now, all they need is a vote in Congress.“People have run out of money and they’re running out of hope,” she added.As for Cobb, it's not just about the jobs that have been lost, it's about the music that the country may never hear if independent venues go silent forever.“It’s hard to think about American music without this network of independent music venues that have existed in this country for decades now. American music, as we know it, would not exist. I’m afraid that’s what we’re about to learn the hard way is it can’t exist the way we know it if these venues go away,” Cobb said.But for now, that's a song Cobb is trying not to write, hoping that the sun doesn't permanently set on some of the nation's most beloved stages. 3854

The Philadelphia Police Department has released officer-worn body camera footage and 911 calls from an October shooting that led to the death of Walter Wallace, Jr.ABC News reports that the release maks the first time in the department's history that it has released body camera footage.Wallace was shot and killed by police on Oct. 26. Police at the time said they were responding to reports of a man with a weapon and that Wallace did not respond to orders to drop a knife he was holding.According to WPVI-TV, Philadelphia police received three 911 calls regarding the incident. The first came from a neighbor who reported that a fight next door. The other two calls came from family members, who asked for help in dealing with Wallace.Bodycam footage from the incident shows officers Wallace leaving a house and walking toward the street holding a knife. Police repeatedly yelled at Wallace to drop his knife and ask others in the area to back away.Despite repeated warnings to drop his weapon, the video shows Wallace circling a parked car and walking toward officers. Police fired 14 shots toward Wallace, though the department has not confirmed how many of those shots struck Wallace.Wallace was later transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.According to WPVI, officers are the scene were not armed with less-lethal weapons, like stun guns. Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said Wednesday that the department has sought funding to equip more officers with stun guns.Wallace's death sparked a few days of protests in Philadelphia.
