Chipotle is scrapping chorizo from its menu.A spokesperson for the Mexican chain restaurant said in an email that chorizo made up less than three-percent of the companies sales, compared to the other meats offered like steak, chicken and barbacoa.As the company was testing its recently-added queso dip in Colorado and California, it was also testing chorizo. One market sold both queso and chorizo while the other sold queso."Our aim in doing that was to get a sense for customer reaction and operational efficiencies," the spokesperson said. "When we made the decision to rollout queso nationwide, we ultimately decided to add queso and remove chorizo."It is not clear exactly when restaurants would stop selling chorizo, however.A week after Chipotle unveiled its queso, people have taken to social media to share their reviews. Foodies long asked Chipotle to add queso to its menu, but the restaurant had trouble finding a way to make it without additives. CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a suspect after two women discovered the body of a homeless man in Chula Vista Tuesday morning. According to police, two sisters were walking on the 1400 block of Broadway around 1:20 a.m. when they discovered a man who wasn’t breathing.Officers tried to save the man, later identified as 56-year-old Ivan Velez, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators later found signs of trauma and are currently searching for a suspect. No description of the suspect was given. CHULA VISTA (KGTV) – A Chula Vista man says he could have been seriously hurt by a razor blade attached to the handlebar of a shopping cart.Jason Rodriguez says he was with his wife and young daughter, shopping at the Walmart on Eastlake Parkway Wednesday morning.“Normally we put her in the shopping cart, but I’m glad we didn’t this time,” Rodriguez said.Rodriguez discovered the blade when he went to wipe down the cart handle.  It was attached by magnets to the bottom of the handlebar.“I could have been cut. I could have caught a disease of some sort,” Rodriguez said. “There are crazy people out there who do dumb things for who knows what reason.”Rodriguez says he alerted store management to the incident. (KGTV) -- South Bay junior and senior high school families learned Monday they will need to stand fast at home a little longer after district officials said they will not reopen campuses for physical learning this year.The Sweetwater Union High School District announced that students will continue distance learning through December 2020 citing "significantly higher" COVID-19 cases within the district's communities.The announcement comes as local health officials wait to hear if the state will place San Diego County back into the purple tier -- the most restrictive level on California's coronavirus reopening road map. Such a move would likely shutter indoor operations for restaurants, movie theaters, houses of worship and gyms, limit retail businesses to just 25% capacity. CINCINNATI -- Police have identified a suspect in the theft of a butterfly from the Krohn Conservatory.Jamie Revis, of Springfield Township, is wanted on a charge of theft, Cincinnati police announced Friday. Earlier, police said someone stole a blue morpho butterfly from the conservatory's butterfly show April 15.The species is native to Central and South American forests.University of Cincinnati biology professors Stephen Matter and Patrick Guerra said last week that the butterfly was likely dead, given its biological need for a warmer climate than the one Cincinnati has experienced at the time. 622
