(CNN) -- A stowaway fell from a plane flying over London and dropped into a residential garden on Sunday, just feet from a sunbathing man, according to reports.The body was traced to the undercarriage of Kenya Airways flight KQ 100 that left from Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Kenya Airports Authority said in a statement Tuesday, adding that it is investigating the incident.London's Metropolitan Police said Monday that the victim appeared to have fallen from the landing gear compartment as the plane approached London's Heathrow Airport.One neighbor described hearing a "whomp" as the body hit the ground, the UK's Press Association (PA) news agency reported."He had all of his clothes on and everything. I had a closer look and saw there was blood all over the walls of the garden," the neighbor told PA.Police were called to an address in Offerton Road in the south London neighborhood of Clapham at 15:39hrs (10:39 ET) on Sunday "after a body was discovered in a garden," the police statement read.Officials are working to establish his identity and "a post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course," it continued.A bag, water and some food were discovered in the landing gear compartment once the place touched down at Heathrow, the police said.The Clapham resident said the man landed a meter (3 feet) from a man sunbathing in his garden."So I went outside and it was just then the neighbor came out and he was very shaken," the neighbor, who asked not to be named, told PA.He suggested the victim was already dead when he fell, adding that the stowaway was "so intact... because his body was an ice block."While the death is not being treated as suspicious, police inquiries will continue.In 2015, a stowaway on a British Airways plane from Johannesburg fell on a roof during the jet's approach to Heathrow. (KGTV) - A Valley Center mom is grateful her daughter is alive, days after discovering her two-year-old girl floating in the back yard pool."It's every mother's worst nightmare and the images plays in my mind a lot," said Emily Friske.That nightmare began with a very ordinary afternoon on Monday, inside a Valley Center home. Friske finished feeding her baby and two-year-old daughter Addie. Friske thought she heard Addie follow her husband into the bedroom. Her husband thought Addie was with Friske in the living room. Minutes later, Friske followed her crawling infant to the back door. "The door was partially open and Addie's clothes were lying on the ground," said Friske.Soon after, she was rushing into the back yard. Her heart stopped. Addie was in the pool."She was blue, not moving, and floating on her side in the shallow end," said Friske.She had no pulse and wasn't breathing. A frantic Friske, a former EMT, and her husband both performed CPR for a total of about 11 minutes before an ambulance arrived."My husband kept yelling, 'Adelaide, Adelaide, Adelaide' with every compression. He was yelling, 'Stay with us!'" said Friske.It wasn't until Addie was in the ambulance - about 30 minutes after she was discovered - that she started breathing again. In the ICU, doctors told the couple that brain damage was likely, possibly severe. On Tuesday, they took Addie off the ventilator and waited. "She reached out for her blanket and said, 'Addie blanket.' The doctors and I looked at each other, and we clapped and cried," said Friske.After a battery of encouraging tests, Friske is hopeful Addie will make a full recovery. Friske is sharing Addie's story for other families, many staying at home during the hot summer months. She urges them to learn CPR and learn from her."My message to parents is to be as vigilant as you can. It can happen in an instant," said Friske.Friske says Addie could go home Saturday. (CNN) -- Air miles programs should be banned and a levy on frequent flyers implemented in order to reduce carbon emissions from aviation, according to new research.The measure is one of a number of recommendations from Richard Carmichael at Imperial College London, who published a report Thursday on how the UK can meet its target of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.Carmichael carried out his report for the Committee on Climate Change (CCC), an independent body that advises the UK government, which has previously said the country needed to become carbon-neutral by 2050 in order to fulfill its obligations under the Paris Agreement on climate change.The UK later became the first major economy to legally commit to the target. This report does not represent CCC's recommendations."Flying is a uniquely high-impact activity and is the quickest and cheapest way for a consumer to increase their carbon footprint," the report says.Air miles programs encourage people to take extra flights to keep up their "privileged traveler status" and should be banned, according to the report.So-called "mileage runs" are a common way for travelers to top up their points in order to maintain access to perks such as priority boarding.An air miles levy would be based on the number of miles flown by each passenger, penalizing those who fly the most while leaving the majority of people unaffected.Research shows that 15% of the UK population take 70% of flights, and these travelers -- who tend to be wealthier and less price-sensitive -- would shoulder most of the burden. By way of comparison, 50% of Britons don't fly at all in any one year.The levy would also encourage short-haul flights rather than more damaging long-haul flights, shift demand from planes to trains, and raise money that could be used to fund research into low-carbon aviation technology, the report said."Given the scope for frequent flyers to have carbon footprints many times that of the average UK household, a lack of policy in this area is likely to be increasingly seen as inconsistent and unjust and risks damaging public engagement with climate action," the report reads.While the report pushes for government policies to tackle emissions, private initiatives have already sprung up.Last week, International Airlines Group (IAG) -- which includes British Airways, Aer Lingus and Iberia -- promised to remove or offset all carbon emissions from its fleet of more than 570 aircraft by 2050.IAG said it would replace older aircraft, invest in sustainable jet fuel and develop technology that removes CO2 from the atmosphere.And some employers have signed up to a program that grants extra paid leave for staff who travel by train rather than plane.Climate Perks is an organization that works to encourage people to cut their carbon footprint by traveling by train without sacrificing their vacation time.This story has been updated to clarify the authorship of the report.  SAN DIEGO (KGTV)-- Twelve members of San Diego's California Conservation Corps returned home today, after a one-month deployment. On October 10th, 2018, Category 4 Hurricane Michael approached the Florida Panhandle. 155 mile-per-hour winds wiped out Mexico Beach City, Florida. For the last month, Corps members were assisting residents recover from the disaster."We did a lot of damage assessment analysis, temporary roofing, we did debris removal, tree removal," Corpsman Antonio Sanchez said. The CCC is a state agency that offers young adults environment-related jobs. Most of the work is in California, but they can be deployed elsewhere. This was crew leader Rebecca Voorhees' first time out of state."It was very eye-opening because we've seen fires. But not things like this," Voorhees said. "It makes you a little more humble because it's not just you here we're helping. We can help all over the world."But their hearts are always at home, especially on Thanksgiving. "I'm really glad to be home. 30 days is a really long time away from family, and so I'm going to go home and spend some time with them," Sanchez said. Their Thanksgiving vacation lasts only a few days. When they go back into the office on Monday, they will be put back on the "available for deployment" list. Their next stop could be to Northern California's fire-affected areas, where they go back to doing what they do best."We help people," Voorhees said. Workers at the Pennsylvania petrochemical plant where President Donald Trump spoke Tuesday were told that if they didn't attend the event, they either had to use paid time off or receive no pay for the day.At least some of the workers who attended the speech were instructed not to protest the President, who told the crowd of workers at the Royal Dutch Shell plant he would be imploring their union leaders to support his reelection.The instructions to the workers came in a memo, a copy of which was obtained by CNN's Polo Sandoval from a congressional source. That source was given the memo by a person in Beaver County, Pennsylvania -- the site of the plant."Your attendance is not mandatory. This will be considered an excused absence. However, those who are NOT in attendance will not receive overtime pay on Friday," read part of the memo.Shell spokesman Curtis Smith confirmed workers were told they would also miss out on some overtime pay if they skipped the event.
