A judge in Georgia has dismissed a Trump campaign lawsuit that raised concerns about a handful of absentee ballots in Chatham County.The Associated Press reports that Chatham County Superior Court Judge James Bass dismissed the lawsuit and did not provide an explanation for his decision at the close of a one-hour hearing.The lawsuit concerned 53 absentee ballots that were not part of an original batch of ballots. At the hearing, county officials testified that the ballots in question had been received on time.The decision comes as Joe Biden continues to narrow the razor-thin lead that President Donald Trump currently has in the state.Donald Trump held a 1.2% advantage in the state with 96% of the expected vote counted on Wednesday evening.As of Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. ET, Georgia Sec. of State Brad Raffensperger's says that about 47,000 votes remained uncounted. Echoing comments made at a morning press conference, officials said they hope they will be able to finish the count by the end of the day.Trump won the state by 5% in 2016. A Hartford, Connecticut, police officer was fired after authorities investigated a video of him telling a group of young men he might shoot them if they fight or run.Officer Stephen Barone was answering a suspected trespassing call August 9 when he was recorded questioning a group of young men in the street."If anybody wants to fight or run, I'm a little trigger happy, guys. I'm not gonna lie, and I get paid a ton of money in overtime, if I had to shoot somebody. A joint statement released by federal and state officials on Thursday described last week’s presidential election as the “most secure in American history” despite calls from President Donald Trump’s campaign that the election was “stolen.”The letter was signed by leaders of the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, the U.S. Election Assistance Commission and the National Association of State Election Directors, among others. But one Las Vegas woman said when her dog Luna began having trouble walking, she knew she had to go the extra mile to take care of her. Luna is a 10-year-old German Shepherd, emotional support animal and a lifesaver. Her owner is Sharlene Branche."She has saved my life so many times. Literally gotten me out of bed because of my breathing problems," Branche said.So when Branche noticed Luna wobbling as she walked, she became worried. "She has never whimpered. She has never cried, " Branche said. "She has never shown any kind of pain, but it's my turn, our turn for me and my husband to help her."X-rays found no issues with Luna's bones, spine or hips. Yet the problems with her walk persisted. Sharlene reached out to Urban Underdog Las Vegas, a nonprofit group for help. They shared Luna's story on their Facebook page. Cynthia Miyamoto said the response was overwhelming."So we posted it, and in less than about eight hours somebody had contacted us," Miyamoto said.Someone donated a brand new doggie wheelchair for Luna to help her get around better. Branche said she is overjoyed. "She's going to be able to go on her walks and her runs again. And I can't even thank this person enough!" Branche said. "So when we are fitting her with the harness and putting on her I literally started crying because I was so happy and excited," Miyamoto said after the delivery.  1517
