SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The famed Jessop's Clock that has rested in Horton Plaza since the center opened has been removed.Tuesday, the clock was moved into temporary storage, though the location is not being revealed, according to Jim Jessop, former owner of Jessop's Jewelry, a plaza mainstay for 125 years before closing in 2017.Upon announcing the closing of Jessop's Jewelry, the plaza asked Jessop to move the clock.RELATED: Grocery chain suing Horton Plaza over millions in sales lossesIt's likely the clock, constructed in 1907, will remain in temporary storage for a couple of years until its new location's lease is signed, Jessop says.The fact that its current location is being kept secret may be due to security concerns. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The discovery of suspicious packages near a downtown San Diego building prompted evacuations, but the boxes were later determined to be harmless.Authorities were called an area near the intersection of 6th Avenue and B Street at around 8:30 a.m. after several white boxes were found and deemed suspicious.The WeWork building through the 13th floor was evacuated and traffic lanes were closed in a nearby area due to the investigation. San Diego Union-Tribune staff members, who occupy space in the building, were forced to evacuate, 10News learned."We’ve seen some different tragedies in newsrooms around the country so I don’t think this is 100% a surprise for any newsroom to face something like this. So Patrick said it is essential that we be extra vigilant, especially during the season of giving. “Even rudimentary bombs can explode in your face," Patrick said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The family of a missing Arizona grandmother believes that she may be heading to San Diego.On Monday, ABC10 News spoke to Aaron Richardson about his grandmother, Alice Fults, who was last seen on Friday morning in Chandler, Arizona. "You'd never think this would happen to you and for it to happen and [to] somebody you know totally tears you apart," he told ABC10 News.On Monday afternoon, Chandler Police confirmed that the 58-year-old stroke survivor and dementia patient got on a Greyhound bus on Friday morning that was bound for Los Angeles.Her family says that she could be trying to get to San Diego which is where she grew up and where her sister still lives. "She's from Lakeside so she always talked about Lakeside, California and how she wanted to go back to Lakeside," said Richardson.Fults has hearts with names tattooed on her legs and horseshoes tattooed on her arms. She has a drooping eyelid from her stroke and needs her seizure medication. Her family told ABC10 News that she left with her granddaughter's ID but not her own ID. She doesn't have a cell phone. Family added that she has a history of wandering off but never for more than a few hours."If you see this, Alice...I love you, grandma. Get some help, okay? Let us know you're okay," Richardson added.Chandler Police have issued a silver alert and are working on notifying law enforcement in Southern California about her disappearance.
