SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Authorities reached out to the public today for help in identifying two thieves who robbed a 19-year-old woman at Fashion Valley mall two weeks ago.The pair, a man and woman who appeared to be in their 20s or early 30s, grabbed the victim from behind as she was walking through a parking structure at the Friars Road shopping center shortly before 2 p.m. Aug. 10, according to San Diego police.As the man pressed a sharp object -- believed to have been a knife -- to the victim's back, his cohort demanded her cellphone and other property, then tried to pull a lanyard from around her neck.The victim slapped the other woman's hand away, preventing her from stealing the strap, but the man was able to yank a pair of Apple AirPods from the victim's ears. The robbers then released the victim and walked off to the west.The victim sustained minor puncture injuries and bruising to her neck during the crime, police said.Investigators have determined that the thieves had been aboard a trolley with the victim and followed her when she got off at Fashion Valley Transit Center.Anyone who might be able to help detectives track down the perpetrators was asked to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 or contact the agency online at sdcrimestoppers.org. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A man died in a hospital Sunday of injuries he suffered in a collision with a boat while he rode a Jet Ski in Mission Bay, authorities said.The collision happened at 6:30 p.m. Saturday near the north end of Ski Beach when a man in his 20s from out of state was riding on a Jet Ski with another family member, according to the San Diego Police Department.A boat collided with the Jet Ski and the injured man was taken back to shore by the family member, where CPR was performed and a pulse was eventually detected, police said. He was taken to a hospital, where he died Sunday.Police questioned the driver of the boat, which was taken as evidence. The investigation of the collision is ongoing. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A man was slashed in the face with a knife by a family member during a fight at Ski Beach Sunday, police said.The family was gathered at the beach when an uninvited family member showed up about 2:35 p.m. Sunday, according to Officer S. Foster of the San Diego Police Department.A 31-year-old man got into a fight with another family member, who pulled a knife and slashed him below his right eye, Foster said.The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the officer said. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A San Diego man who mailed more than four pounds of pure methamphetamine to Guam inside stuffed animals and had more than 500 counterfeit credit cards in his possession was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced Thursday.Daniel Wayne Gorman, 33, pleaded guilty to sending four packages from a Jamul post office in 2016, each containing a stuffed animal filled with methamphetamine, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.The packages were mailed under the alias "Daniel German" and were intercepted in Barrigada, Guam, prosecutors said.He was sentenced Monday to 10 years for his plea to distribution of methamphetamine and five years for possession of counterfeit access devices stemming from fake credit cards and driver's licenses discovered at his home during a 2018 police search.Investigators found more than 500 counterfeit cards, along with "multiple fake Florida driver's licenses bearing the defendant's photograph but the personal identifying information of others," according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.Many of the credit cards also bore the names of real individuals who were not Gorman, prosecutors said. 1187

"The victim complied, and the suspect fled in the victim's vehicle."Police said the vehicle's license plate is 6TQG479.
