MILWAUKEE -- An organization claims Catholic values are being threatened over a "Pride Prom" at Marquette University.An online petition has thousands of signatures to stop an LGBT event slated to take place Saturday at the university.University leaders say despite the opposition, the event will go on as planned.Marquette graduate Cameron Sanchez says at first, he didn't take the petition seriously."But then I went online and saw it had 18,000 signatures," he said.The petition is hosted on a website called "The American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property," also known as TFP.John Ritchie, TFP Student Action Director did not consent to an on-camera interview, but sent a statement though email. Ritchie said that promoting Pride Prom, "...is like promoting drugs for those who suffer from a drug addiction.""They're hurtful, but they're not Marquette. (KGTV) - The F-35C landed in Miramar Tuesday, the first of it's kind for the Department of Defense, according to officials at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.UPDATE: Officials later clarified the F-35C arriving at Miramar was the first for the Marine Corps.There are three versions of the F-35 Lightning II. The F-35C is the "carrier version", the largest of it's kind and able to land on an aircraft carrier's runway.The fighter jet is the most advanced in the military, "everything you look at is displayed in the helmet, I mean it's like in the movies," Squadron Commander Lt. Col. Cedar Hinton, USMC said.Hinton is the newest commander of the Black Knight Squadron at MCAS Miramar, who will inherit the incoming F-35Cs."This is an exciting time in the Black Knight history. This squadron was stood up in WWII like a lot of squadrons, this particular squadron's able to break a lot of milestones." He mentioned milestones that started in the 1950's with the F-9F Panther. That was the "Navy’s first successful carrier-based jet fighter" and landed with the Black Knights at Miramar. Then in the 1960's the squadron was the first in the Marine Corps to fly the F-4B Phantom.In the 1980's they were the first to fly the F/A-18.The F-35 got it's first test in combat in 2018, deploying to Afghanistan, and then in Iraq a year later."They've had some pretty good success with it, I mean it does what we paid for it to do," Lt. That engine is more reliable than two engines on an F-18 I'd say," Lt. Col. (KGTV) — Border Patrol agents arrested a man Wednesday after more than 70 pounds of cocaine were found inside inside his vehicle.Border Patrol agents stop a suspicious vehicle at about 7 p.m. on Interstate 215 near the Muerrieta Hot Springs exit. A K-9 officer was used to search the vehicle and detected possible narcotics.During the search, agents said they located 27 bundles of cocaine stashed inside the vehicle's front and rear seats and underneath seats.The bundles weighed about 70 pounds, with a street value of about 6,450. The driver, a 32-year-old U.S. citizen, was arrested and turned over to Drug Enforcement Administration.The bust capped off drug seizures totaling about 117 pounds within the last 72 hours, according to Customs and Border Protection.“In the last 72 hours San Diego Sector has seized over 117 pounds of lethal narcotics worth more than ,300,000,” said Chief Patrol Agent Aaron Heitke. “Thankfully these dangerous drugs will not reach our local communities.” 1020
