OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Forever 21 is one of a handful of stores that allows men and women to try on clothes in the same area.Now, some shoppers believe it might be time for a change.This comes after a man was charged for allegedly recording a woman and a girl inside a Forever 21 changing room at the Overland Park mall.“For a place like this, I don't think that's appropriate at all to have men, women and children in the same dressing room at all,” said Jaymee Henderson, who shops at Forever 21.Scripps station KSHB in Kansas City sat down with an attorney to find out what the laws are when it comes to recording video in a clothing store like this.Attorney Bernie Rhodes said anything within the store is fair game."If I want to walk into a Forever 21 store and put my cell phone in my breast pocket and film my interaction with the sales clerk, that's perfectly legal,” said Rhodes.But once you get to the dressing room area, the rules change."What a store can't do is install a security camera in the bathroom or dressing rooms because there we have what we call an expectation of privacy. The same is true for perverts,” said Rhodes.Rhodes said a person can record themselves in the dressing room with their own device.In the Forever 21 dressing rooms, there is a large gap between the floor and the fitting room wall. That’s how prosecutors allege a man took video of a girl and a woman on his cell phone.A petition on Change.org is calling on the store to separate their dressing rooms by gender, but Rhodes believes that change won’t prevent people from breaking the law."It falls upon the individual who is acting illegally, he or she knows what they're doing is wrong. PALATINE, Ill. – Art education in grade schools has historically struggled with resources and funding. As millions turn to the arts to deal with stress and anxiety, educators are being forced to stretch the limits of their creativity. This fall, they say teaching acting, music and art will be more challenging than ever.“We do lots of different things. We do ceramics. We do 3D sculpture. We do drawing and painting. And it's really a hands-on program,” said elementary school art teacher Paul Dombrowski.Dombrowski is two years away from retirement and trying to relearn how to teach.“COVID, it has really turned the educational world upside down and we're kind of baptism by fire of having to figure out what we're going to do and how we can service these kids,” he said.High school theater director Britnee Kenyon’s district decided on a full remote program weeks ago.“For me, that meant really reconfiguring our entire theater program, theatrical season, everything, because as most people know theater needs an audience and theater needs people,” said Kenyon.One of her six productions had to be eliminated. She’s now dealing with streaming rights to put on her productions online.But the recent streaming success of “Hamilton” has proven that the show can go on.“It's not in the way that we expected but we can still do theater and families can watch it,” said Kenyon. “Maybe on the bright side, families from all over the country will now be able to watch it.”She’s still working out how her acting students will learn, rehearse and perform this year.“Not being able to play theater games together, not being able to make eye contact with a human being and believe that they're making eye contact with you back, because you're actually looking at your screen, that in and of itself is a conundrum that will be really interesting to figure out,” said Kenyon.For Dombrowski, a diabetic making him high-risk for getting coronavirus, his classes will all be virtual.“I'm kind of scared to have to teach it through the computer,” he said. “I'm looking at a screen of 28 children. It's really an impersonal thing. It's hard to make connections with the kids that way.”Even more challenging is that he may be instructing students from all of the schools in the district with differing resources and abilities.“We have 4,000 children that are going to be working from home and some may have a piece of notebook paper and a pencil. PALA MESA, CA (KGTV) -- 10News is now digging deeper in the history of violations issued to the company that operated the bus that was involved in this rainy Saturday's deadly crash on I-15 just south of Pala Mesa. “One life lost is too many,” says Chris Turner with the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance. We spoke to him over FaceTime on Monday. The bus was operated by Executive Lines Inc., based in El Monte. According to the federal administration that oversees bus inspections, the company's fleet has had no crashes over the past two years, until now. However, they have had 26 maintenance violations, reportedly. After a November 2019 inspection, the same bus that was involved in this weekend's crash was reportedly issued two violations related to windshield wipers and spare fuses. Turner says violations like those should’ve been fixed right away. “Those need to be remedied before the vehicle is dispatched again,” he adds.10News spoke to attorney Nathan Morris about a separate major bus crash that happened last September in Utah, injuring 22 tourists. He's representing seven of the victims. “[I’m representing] three of those who were killed in the crash and their families as well as four others who were injured to various degrees,” he adds.Morris says bus passengers can look online for a snapshot of a company's safety. “They have a right as passengers of that bus to make sure that the driver and the companies and anybody else are held accountable for keeping the rules,” he says.“You enter the company's USDOT number and it will tell you whether or not they’re a safe company,” says Turner of researching bus companies online. A USDOT number is issued by the Department of Transportation. If you can’t find it on a company’s website, Turner says you can make a phone call. He adds, “One of the things they should readily give you when asked is the USDOT number and if not, that's immediately a red flag.
