SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A Scripps Ranch woman who contacted Team 10 about problems with her Samsung refrigerator is now receiving a full refund after Team 10’s story aired.Stephanie Nivinskus bought her Samsung french door refrigerator in December 2014. It cost her nearly ,000. She said she had issues roughly six months after she bought it. "It's been a headache since the beginning," Nivinskus told Team 10 in September.The first problem was the ice maker does not function properly, according to Nivinskus."The ice just gathers and collects up there. It makes it so it doesn't work," Nivinskus said.She also has issues with the temperature of the refrigerator. The FDA says a safe temperature inside a refrigerator is 40 degrees or below. During the initial interview with Team 10, the thermometer inside of Nivinskus' refrigerator read about 56 degrees."Having spoiled food is a real problem," she said. There are also more than 5,400 people in a Facebook group demanding a recall of Samsung refrigerators.In an email, a Samsung spokesperson told Team 10 in response to the initial story: "At Samsung we stand behind all of our products, including our refrigerators, and want to ensure our customers are completely satisfied. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A school bus crashed into a San Diego Center for Children dormitory Wednesday afternoon, creating a massive hole in the side of the building.Officials say a San Diego Unified School District bus driver lost control of the bus on the 3000 block of Armstrong Street, causing the bus to collide with the building.No children were inside the building or the bus at the time of the crash. The bus driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution.Contractors have responded to the scene of the crash to assess the damage to the building. Officials with the center say all eight rooms in the dormitory are unusable following the incident. 659

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A well-known San Diego restaurant plans to close for good this July. Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant will close its Mission Valley restaurant on July 16, 2019, according to paperwork filed by the company. Although no reason was given for the closure, 79 employees are expected to lose their jobs. The layoff notice was filed by the company on June 5 and says, in part, that the company will “continue the employment of all employees through the sixtieth day after the date of this notice, and all employees will be paid your regular wages and benefits through that date.”The brewery and restaurant first opened in 1988 in Palo Alto before expanding in 1999.
