(KGTV) – More than 300 South Bay parents and students attended a school safety forum Monday night.The Sweetwater Union High School District and Chula Vista police held the meeting at Chula Vista High School’s Performing Arts Center.“We certainly had some questions, we pinged our kids on what drills are being done on their campuses,” said Ricky Gallegos, who has two kids that attend high schools in the district.School officials and police assured parents that they practice and prepare for the unthinkable. But police were also candid about their limited resources. They have 10 school resource officers for 61 campuses and more than 51,000 students in Chula Vista.  Police asked parents for their help by reminding them to be involved with their kids and school community and to report whatever doesn't sound right. They also told them about the “P-3 Anonymous Tip App” which was launched within the past year. They said it there have been more than 400 tips made and law enforcement removed 13 guns from San Diego County Schools as a result of the app.“I think it’s petty cool, especially that it’s anonymous because I know some students are worried that they’ll talk to someone else,” Leira Gardea, a sophomore at Chula Vista High School said.Mental health was also a big topic of discussion. (KGTV) — A suspected drunk driver had to be pulled from a vehicle after a rollover crash in the South Bay overnight.Police said the driver drove into two parked cars while driving southbound on Broadway at about 2 a.m. Saturday. After hitting one vehicle, her vehicle rolled into the middle of the street.The vehicle she struck collided with a nearby SUV, police said.Emergency crews extricated the woman from her vehicle and took her to a nearby hospital with moderate injuries.Chula Vista Police later arrested the woman for driving under the influence.No one else was injured in the crash. 620

CHULA VISTA (KGTV) - Chula Vista police are searching for a possible arsonist after four brush fires were set within minutes of each other Thursday morning.Firefighters responded around 3:30 a.m. to the area south of Lake Crest Drive and east of Wueste Road in Eastlake.While crews were working to put out the fire, they received a second fire call nearly three miles away on Eastlake Parkway.The third brush fire happened a short time after on Telegraph Canyon Road, and then the fourth fire broke out near Vista Oak Place.No one was hurt, and firefighters were able to put out all the fires.Witnesses told fire investigators they saw a silver Lexus leaving the scene of the fourth fire around 4:15 a.m.Anyone with information on the suspected arsonist or the incidents is asked to contact the Metro Arson Strike Team (MAST) at 619-236-6815. 850
