President Xi will start his first state visit to the U.S. Tuesday in Seattle, Washington state, before traveling to Washington D.C., the U.S. national capital, for a summit meeting with President Obama Friday.

Xi announced that China will provide financial support for 50,000 Chinese and U.S. students to study in each other's country, the U.S. side will exert efforts to raise the number of U.S. students learning Chinese to 1 million by 2020, and that the two countries will hold "Year of Tourism" in 2016.

Not only does the gift showcase the long-standing culture and modern civilization of Chinese nation, it also demonstrates common progress different civilizations and cultures have achieved by learning from each other and being inclusive, the Chinese leader noted.
