SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - One week later, San Diego Police Homicide Detectives made an arrest in a homicide case in a Mountain View neighborhood. On Sunday, May 6, 2018 police units responded to a 911 call regarding a shooting at 500 S. 40th St. When the initial units arrived on-the-scene, they found a 33-year-old black male and a 37-year-old black male, both lying on the ground.According to police, both males suffered from gunshot wounds to the upper body. Both victims were later transported to the hospital but, were later pronounced deceased.The victims have been identified as Tony Jackson, 33, and Robert Brown, 37.Family friends said they were fun, caring men who had families and young children of their own. After a preliminary investigation by the San Diego Police Homicide Detectives, they determined that a black male, wearing dark clothing walked up to the victims, who were standing in front of the Rec Center at 500 S. 40th St., and began shooting.There has been a high police presence since the shooting, according to neighbors.San Diego Police Homicide Detectives identified the suspect as Shannon Bryant, 29, of San Diego. Bryant faces charges in connection to the murder of both Jackson and Brown. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police arrested two people following a pursuit through San Carlos Friday night.Officers say they responded to reports of gunshots near the San Carlos Recreation Center around 9:53 p.m. They said they tried to pull over a suspicious vehicle, but it took off. A five-minute pursuit took place before the suspect’s car crashed near the Jackson and Golfcrest Drives.The suspects rushed out of the vehicle, but one was caught after surrendering at a nearby taco shop.  The other one ran into a nearby housing complex. That suspect surrendered after about a three-minute standoff.Police say they found guns in the car. The suspect's names have not yet been released.  713

The four-night convention begins with a roll call on Monday evening from delegates who take turns stating their pick for the nominee. California Republican National Committeewoman and Delegate to Republican National Convention Harmeet Dhillon said they are expecting a unanimous vote for President Trump and VP Mike Pence.Then, top republicans and citizens will speak through the next few nights. President Trump is expected to speak Thursday evening, but the schedule also shows he will be in the program to some capacity every evening.This would typically be a time when hundreds from California attend, but with coronavirus restrictions, that’s not possible this year. Dhillon said California would typically have 170 delegates, an equal number of alternates and guests, but that number has dwindled to just 6 for 2020. She said everyone in Charlotte has taken multiple coronavirus tests and said she feels safe with the health guidelines being practiced.Dhillon also said that she encouraged people who would not be flying to the RNC to donate the money saved from staying home. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Officials on Sunday released the names of the service members involved with a deadly amphibious assault vehicle training accident off the Southern California coast last week.A total of 16 service members were involved in the AAV accident on July 30, after the vehicle started taking on water while conducting shore-to-ship waterborne operations near San Clemente Island. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Neighbors in Ocean Beach and Point Loma are hoping new surveillance video will help arson investigators find whomever is responsible for a series of fires over the weekend. The video was taken from a yard near one of the fires. It shows a man walking in and out of frame then moments later, neighbors say, another fire stared. The fires all happened early Saturday morning within hours and just miles of each other. Arson investigators are calling the fires suspicious , all of them started in people's backyards. San Diego Police tell 10News they're still working to find out if the fires are related and also looking at the surveillance video to find out if the man in the video is a suspect. Detectives ask that anyone else with video, turn it over to the department. 799
