The FBI has located human remains in the wreckage of the Horizon Air plane that crashed Friday after it was stolen and flown by an airport worker."While the focus of our investigation thus far has centered on Richard Russell, 29, of Sumner, Washington, the FBI is awaiting the results of a review by the Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office," FBI Seattle said in a statement.Authorities said Russell took off in the stolen plane at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Friday night, flew for about an hour with military jets chasing him and crashed the 76-seater on a heavily wooded island.The flight data recorder and components of the cockpit voice recorder have been recovered and are with the National Transportation Safety Board, according to the FBI. 770

Not since before 1950 has Oklahoma gone the first four months without a single tornado touchdown. By the end of April, the state would have averaged 17 tornado touchdowns. Last year, 13 tornadoes had touched down by the end of April. In 2016, there were 27 touchdowns in the month of April alone. In 2012, there were 54 confirmed touchdowns in April. The state of Kansas has also gone the entire year without a tornado. According to National Weather Service data, the state averages 12 tornadoes in the month of April alone. "On the whole, across the United States, we have seen around half the number of eyewitnessed tornado reports that we would normally expect by this time of year," Dr. Patrick Marsh, a meteorologist at the Storm Prediction Center, told CNN. Meteorologists are blaming, or crediting, a jet stream pattern that has sent big snow storms into the Upper Midwest for the decreased number of tornadoes. The pattern has prevented warm moist air from setting up in the Plains, which has cut off any fuel for potential tornadoes. According to the Storm Prediction Center, the upcoming weekend appears to void of any major severe weather outbreaks. There are about 19.3 million continued claims or people still unemployed.With so many Americans looking for work right now, a lot of people are being targeted by scammers.“I was actually scammed myself,” said Amelia Brockman.In March, shortly after Brockman uploaded her profile to the gig site Upwork, she had her first experience with what’s known as an employment scam.“On Upwork, I was looking for work and a job I found would pay a lot of money for it,” said Brockman. “I was desperate because I didn’t want to go back to actual outside work.”This put her in a vulnerable place, where she ignored some warning signs.“I got the job. It seemed legit,” she said. “Then, he started asking if I am going to pay you, I need you to go buy Google cards. Something about how he needed to put me in the system.”She never got paid, in fact, she lost roughly ,000 in Google card purchases.“People are heartless at this point. Not everyone, just the scammers,” she said. “It is getting ridiculous.”Over the past three months, while looking for other work, Brockman has come across at least 40 other job scam posts, including one where during an online interview, the interviewer started asking her for personal info and to purchase equipment.“I called the company and eventually I texted him back and said ‘dear sir, that is a scam. You don’t work for them,’ and he blocked me,” said Brockman.According to the Better Business Bureau, employment scams are the riskiest scams right now. A newly released report by the BBB, shows 53% of the people targeted by employment scams are unemployed and roughly 75% of the people actually scammed are in a personal financial crisis.To avoid being a victim of an employment scam yourself, the BBB says there are a few things you can do. They include noticing if a job posting has grammatical errors or misspellings. If it does, it is usually a scam.The BBB says you should remember that you should never have to pay to get a job or have to provide you credit card and bank account information. Legitimate employers provide a paper check option.Lastly, try to research the company or employer to see if they have had complaints.If you come across a posting that you suspect is a scam or get scammed, report it.“You should go report it, because I did not report mine until months later to the point where another state called me and you don’t want to be scammed the same way,” said Brockman. 2613

The family of a Pennsylvania woman who died in jail in 2015 from heroin withdrawal symptoms was awarded .75 million in a wrongful death suit settlement this week, CBS News reported. Victoria "Tori" Herr, then 18, died on April 5, 2015, nine days after being arrested after police found drugs in the woman's apartment. Herr told police that she had consumed 10 bags of heroin a day. During her first four days in custody, Herr reportedly suffered from bouts of vomiting and diarrhea. She was treated with water and Ensure, but was unable to keep her fluids down. The result of those symptoms led her to cardiac arrest and to lose consciousness, CBS News reported. Herr's lawyers claimed that the Lebanon County Correctional Facility did not meet her basic medical needs, and then lied. "Anyone who looked at her would have known that she was very sick and that she needed attention," Herr's family lawyer Jonathan Feinberg told CBS. The FDA said in a news conference on Friday that there have been “roughly" five adverse reactions to Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine, which began distribution earlier this week.According to FDA and Pfizer officials, 2.9 million doses of the vaccine was distributed this week. Those doses mostly went to health care workers and those living and working in assisted living facilities. It’s unclear exactly how many of those 2.9 million doses have been administered, as of Friday.Dr. Peter Marks, director of the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, told reporters on Friday that one of the five adverse events caused a serious reaction. Marks did not go into detail on the locations or conditions of all the cases. The FDA has not responded for a request for additional information.Marks said that a case in Alaska was the most serious of the reactions being investigated.“We will continue to watch these closely. It is difficult to talk about them without any kind of good certainty until we have more information on them,” Marks said.FDA officials said that it’s possible the reactions were from the vaccine’s active ingredient polyethylene glycol. According to government information, the ingredient can cause known side effects such as bloating, diarrhea, nausea, cramps, gas and hives.FDA administrator Dr. Stephen Hahn said that the vaccine’s monitoring program is working well.“One of the things the FDA does well and uniquely is really getting to the bottom to events like allergic reactions,” Hahn said.On Friday, a second vaccine received FDA authorization.
