SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Authorities reached out to the public today for help in identifying two thieves who robbed a 19-year-old woman at Fashion Valley mall two weeks ago.The pair, a man and woman who appeared to be in their 20s or early 30s, grabbed the victim from behind as she was walking through a parking structure at the Friars Road shopping center shortly before 2 p.m. Aug. 10, according to San Diego police.As the man pressed a sharp object -- believed to have been a knife -- to the victim's back, his cohort demanded her cellphone and other property, then tried to pull a lanyard from around her neck.The victim slapped the other woman's hand away, preventing her from stealing the strap, but the man was able to yank a pair of Apple AirPods from the victim's ears. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - It took emergency crews about 20 minutes Monday to free a tree trimmer who wound up trapped in a palm tree, upside down, about 30 feet above the ground in a San Carlos-area neighborhood.The work accident in the 8000 block of Dicenza Lane, south of Mission Gorge Road and west of Golfcrest Drive, was reported about 8:15 a.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.After firefighters got the victim, a man in his 40s, out of the tree, medics took him to Sharp Memorial Hospital for evaluation of complaints of dizziness and nausea, SDFRD spokeswoman Monica Munoz said. 605

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - County health officials confirmed a diagnosis of infectious pulmonary tuberculosis in a San Diego International Airport employee Friday but stressed that the risk of public exposure is considerably low.Officials with the county Health and Human Services Agency determined the potential exposure period to be Jan. 1 to May 29 in an area of the airport that the public cannot access. County health officials also found no evidence of the disease being transmitted from the employee to any close contacts.County officials said they are in the process of notifying employees of Southwest Airlines, G2 Secure Staff LCC and the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority about the possible exposure. Affected employees were being advised to talk to their employers for more information."In most cases, a person has to be in close contact with someone who has TB for a long period of time to be at risk for getting TB,'' said Dr. Dean Sidelinger, the county's interim deputy public health officer. "In this case the employee does not spend significant time in any given area, had minimal close contact with employees and contact with members of the public was limited to short periods of time.''Tuberculosis is generally transmitted through the air or via contact with an infected person. Jonathan Currier, with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit stationed at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in San Diego's North County, was reported overboard at 9:40 a.m. Thursday while the USS Essex was conducting routine operations in the Sulu Sea.Currier was declared dead on Aug. 17, 13th MEU Capt. Diann Rosenfield said. "Our hearts go out to the Currier family," said Col. Chandler Nelms, commanding officer, 13th MEU. "Cpl.
