SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The county Medical Examiner has identified the second teenager killed after a car lost control on a Mission Valley freeway and crashed before bursting into flames last weekend.David Chavez, 15, was killed by blunt force trauma, thermal cause, and smoke inhalation according to the ME in the tragic crash on Jan. 18.Police say a car was speeding at about 3 a.m. on the westbound Interstate 8 ramp to southbound State Route 163 when the driver lost control and hit a guardrail, sending the car down an embankment where it a tree and caught fire.RELATED:Community helping family of teen killed in Mission Valley crashAt least 2 dead in fiery freeway crash in Mission ValleyAnother 15-year-old, identified as Gustavo Beltran, was also killed in the crash.The driver, a 17-year-old, was arrested by CHP on suspicion of DUI. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The California Highway Patrol said a person arrested at gunpoint on Interstate 15 in San Diego Thursday was suspected of driving illegally in the HOV lane and leading an officer on a pursuit.The chase happened on southbound I-15 just south of Aero Dr. at 5:30 p.m.Officers said the driver was in the high-occupancy vehicle lane and failed to pull over, leading to the brief pursuit.There are no reports of any injuries or a reason why the driver did not yield for the traffic stop.10News is monitoring developments in the story. 555

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Students from around San Diego are using a modern medium to learn and inspire.The Cesar Chavez Service Clubs, which has chapters at 22 local schools, has launched the "Chavistas Podcast."Once a month, they interview a local leader, learning that person's story. They hope it can inspire other kids to reach for the stars."We feel that, as a community of Chavistas, that we can get a good message of community out there," say Ariana Gallegos, the club supervisor.Gallegos has a background in radio broadcasting and uses that to help the kids craft their interviews."It's a beautiful experience that I get to bring the students to a setting that sometimes is hard to be at," says Galleos. "But it allows them to see that if I can do it, you can do it."Students in the club say it's been a fun experience. They hope other kids will listen and learn."When it turnes out good, it's really nice, just feeling like you accomplished something good," says Wilson Elementary 7th Grader Mecklin Montgomery. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The Historic Balboa Theatre will be celebrating a milestone Monday night. The famed venue will host a party in honor of its 95th birthday. The celebration will pay special tribute to the USO in a performance produced by Ric Henry, a San Diego song-and-dance sensation. The musical review will depict the musical history of the USO from the 1940s to the present.
