SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The first round of artists for San Diego’s Wonderfront music festival, supported by the star power of Tony Hawk, Trevor Hoffman, and Rob Machado, was announced Monday. The event will take place on seven stages in parks and on piers along the Port of San Diego, from South Embarcadero up to Broadway Pier. Wonderfront is scheduled for Nov. 22-24, 2019, the weekend before Thanksgiving. Wonderfront organizers plan to mix well-known stars with local favorites and emerging artists. “Our goal with this lineup was to have it stacked from start to finish each day with great artists. It’s hard to really call any certain bands our so-called headliners as so many lines of bands on this festival are all headliners in their own right,” said Wonderfront co-founder Paul Thornton. The first round of artists, announced Monday, include Miguel, Slightly Stoopid, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, MGMT, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Nicky Jam, Don Omar, Vince Staples, Tyga, Los Angeles Azules, Tucanes de Tijuana, Walk the Moon, Phantogram, X Ambassadors, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Lil Dicky, Big Gigantic, and Pennywise. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Sunday, doctors revealed President Donald Trump is taking a steroid, called Dexamethasone, as the latest medication for his coronavirus treatment."We just don't know what's going to happen next, things are very unpredictable," Dr. Christian Ramers, Chief of Population Health at Family Health Centers, said.Ramers has seen thousands of COVID-19 patients and says the disease has two phases, virus production and inflammatory. He said the shift generally happens seven to ten days in."Once things kind of shift, the damage actually comes more from the immune system's response than the virus itself," Ramers said, which is why a steroid like Dexamethasone is prescribed."Where it showed a decrease in mortality was in people who already required oxygen or if they were even sicker than that and were on ventilation," said Ramers, citing a study.Sunday, doctors stated the president received oxygen Friday before being taken to Walter Reed Medical Center, but said his oxygen levels only dipped to 94% and 93%. Normal levels are 95% and above.Ramers said studies show if you give the steroid too early or to someone who has a mild case, it could cause harm. "If you dial down the immune system too early or in a case that is really mild, you might have the opposite effect you're looking for," Ramers said.There's also a list of side effects."If you use them for a chronic basis or for more than a couple of days there is a long list of things it can cause. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The City of San Diego said Friday Lime Bike, Bird, Skip Scooters and Lyft had violated its terms of operation in regards to geofencing and other scooter operating restrictions. Geofencing forces riders to slow down to 8 miles per hour in busy areas “like Balboa Park and our boardwalks,” San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer wrote on Twitter. Bird had violations in nine different San Diego locations on July 13 and 14. Lyft and Lime Bike had violations in seven areas during that time, city officials said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The non-profit organization Border Angels hosted its 32nd-anniversary dinner on Saturday. The dinner raises money to help continue providing the services they offer to immigrants in the community, including water drops for border crossers, legal services, and shelter. The migrant caravan and the upcoming election were hot topics of conversation during the dinner. This year the organization honorees were Margarita Zavala, Kirsten Zittlau and Jacqueline Arellano. Zavala and Zittlau are attorneys. Arellano is the water drop coordinator for Border Angels. Border Angels' founder Enrique Morones tells 10News that he decided to honor women this year. He also encouraged everyone to go out and vote on November 6th saying the president is sending the wrong message about immigrants. Guests at the event also reacted to President Donald Trump deploying the military to the border.
