DENVER (AP) — A black bear broke into a Colorado house over the weekend and left by breaking through a wall "like the Kool-Aid Man."Estes Park police say the break-in occurred Friday night and that the animal was likely attracted to trash.A Facebook post by the police department said: "Upon officer's arrival, said bear forcibly breached a hole in the wall like the 'Kool-Aid Man' and made its escape."The Denver Post reports no one was injured.Colorado Parks and Wildlife said bears entered over 35 vehicles and nine residences in the Estes Park area in the 10 days before Aug. 3. Residents were encouraged to close and lock all doors and windows to homes and vehicles. 679

D'Arreion Toles just wanted to enter his apartment building in St. Louis on Friday, October 12. Instead, Toles was confronted by a white woman who lives in the same building he does — and she refused to let him in.In a Facebook video that has since gone viral, Toles can be seen trying to enter what he calls a "Downtown St. Louis luxury loft" and is subsequently blocked by a neighbor "because she don’t feel that I belong," he said in his social media post shared early Saturday. The exchange is heated as Toles tries to enter the building and tells the woman, identified as Hilary Brooke Mueller by The New York Times, that she is blocking him. After attempting to block him and telling him "no", Mueller eventually follows Toles, a black man, as he makes his way to his apartment.  816

DENVER – The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating whether or not Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller violated any rules on a recent Florida fishing trip. The probe comes after complaints from the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) made to the FWC about the fishing trip, according to TMZ Sports. On the guided fishing trip to Florida, Miller and friends caught a hammerhead shark and reportedly released it back into the ocean after posing for a picture and video. 517

David Bossie, a Trump campaign adviser that is leading the President's legal challenge the outcome of the 2020 election, has contracted COVID-19, according to CNN, USA Today and Bloomberg.Bossie reportedly tested positive for the virus on Sunday, and reports of his diagnosis surfaced in the media on Monday — the same day that reports surfaced that Housing and Urban Development Director Ben Carson had also tested positive for the virus.Bossie reportedly has been traveling between Arizona and Trump campaign headquarters in Virginia, and is often seen without a mask.Bossie is among the legal experts who have been challenging the election outcomes in several states that Trump lost, and in states where the outcome is too close to call. While the Trump campaign has filed several lawsuits, there is still no evidence that widespread voter fraud changed the outcome of the election.Several top officials in the Trump administration — including President Donald Trump himself — have contracted COVID-19 in recent weeks. Other top officials who have contracted the virus include White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, adviser Hope Hicks, adviser Stephen Miller and White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany. 1221

Debate is part of life in DC. Right now, that debate includes the highest court in the land and how to replace one of its iconic members.“Well obviously, it’s a very contentious situation,” said Patrick Wohlfarth, a professor at the University of Maryland who studies the history of the Supreme Court.“When Trump nominates someone and the Republican Party in the Senate is able to confirm, to successfully confirm that nominee, it stands to assume that, that is going to shift the court to the right and perhaps significantly so,” said Wohlfarth. Three of the current justices were appointed by a Democratic president and five were appointed by a Republican. If President Donald Trump's next appointee is confirmed that number would grow to six. That kind of ideological shift could make a huge impact on a variety of issues that directly affect American lives.“Healthcare, the individual mandate should be struck down,” said Michael Wille a Washington, D.C. resident.“There’s issues around who to love, how to care for our own selves. Issues around Native American and Indigenous rights. Rights to religion and all of these issues around justice,” said Liz Theoharis with the Poor People's Campaign. “Ending our involvement in foreign wars, school choice, reforming entitlements. I want my generation to see social security and medicare,” said Willie.“From healthcare to civil rights to women’s rights, women’s reproductive rights, I mean everything is on the table,” said Mike Gee, a Washington D.C. resident. One issue that comes up a lot, is the possibility of overturning Roe v. Wade, the nearly 50-year-old Supreme Court decision that protects a woman's right to an abortion.“As a woman, the court thinking that you can pass judgement on my body is not something I agree with,” said Theoharris. “With Ruth Bader Ginsburg no longer on the court, the person that fills that seat has the potential to swing the court majority view of certain abortion restrictions in the opposite direction,”A potential swing that will play out in hearing rooms in DC but affects American lives for the foreseeable future.“It’s everything, that’s the point,” said Gee. 2161
