SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KGTV) -- Governor Gavin Newsom Sunday directed certain businesses to close amid the spread of the coronavirus. In a news conference, Newsom said he directed all bars, nightclubs, wineries and brew pubs to close to help stop the spread of the virus. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 50-year-old man died after he apparently lost control of his vehicle on a Black Mountain Ranch street and tumbled about 20 feet down an embankment, police said Monday.The crash was reported shortly before 10:30 p.m. Sunday in the 17900 block of San Dieguito Road, west of Camino Del Sur, San Diego police Officer Sarah Foster said.The victim was driving eastbound on San Dieguito road at a high speed when he lost control of his vehicle and it rolled down a 20-foot embankment, Foster said.The man was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, the officer said. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 43-year-old man was hospitalized Wednesday morning with serious injuries after the car he was riding in crashed into four parked cars on a Mountain View street, police said.It happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on South 40th Street just south of Imperial Avenue, San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims said.A 38-year-old man was driving a 2005 Honda Civic southbound on South 40th Street when the car drifted to the right for unknown reasons and struck four parked cars, Heims said.The 43-year-old man, who was sitting in the front passenger seat of the Honda, was taken to a hospital for treatment of a fractured neck, which was not believed to be life-threatening, the officer said.The Honda driver was uninjured and 31-year-old man in the back seat of the sedan had a complaint of pain to his leg, Heims said. 847

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – A wildlife overpass near Salt Lake City is proving to be successful at helping animals safely migrate over a busy interstate.The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (UDWR) hailed the Parley's Canyon overpass a success in a recent Facebook post, saying it has also helped motorists stay much safer as well.In its Facebook post, UDWR included video that show many animals using the overpass to safely cross to the other side of Interstate 80. Cameras set up along the bridge captured moose, bears, porcupines, squirrels, mountain lions, deer, coyotes, and other critters.The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) and Utah State University have been monitoring the overpass throughout the year.The overpass opened in December 2018. UDOT says it spans six lanes of interstate and was constructed to improve safety on I-80 by reducing wildlife and vehicle collisions.UDOT coordinated with UDWR on the wildlife issues specific to the project, including wildlife migration patterns.While it may be tempting to visit the bridge in an attempt to spot some critters, UDWR says to keep off the overpass and not disturb the animals. 1154

Then to move up, it must meet the next tier's criteria for two consecutive weeks.
