SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The County has announced 61 sites where you can easily drop off your mail ballot ahead of the March 3 primary. According to County News Center, those who wait to drop off their ballot past Tuesday, February 25 may want to drop it off at one of the county sites before Election Day. The drop-off sites will be open during each location’s business hours from Monday, February 24 through Election Day Tuesday, March 3. “More than 1.3 million San Diego County voters have chosen the convenience of mail ballots and that number continues to rise,” said Registrar Michael Vu. “The early drop-off sites provide a great service for voters. They help with the timely return of mail ballots and decrease the high volume of voters dropping off mail ballots at polling places on Election Day.”The sites are located at 61 libraries throughout the county. Click here for a list of locations. The county warns that the sites are not for early voting, but for mail ballots only. Voters can also drop off their mail ballot or vote in person at the Registrar of Voters located at 5600 Overland Avenue. The office is open 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. On Election Day, the office will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The office will also be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 29 and Sunday, March 1. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The man accused of killing his stepmother and burying her body in the backyard of a Tijuana home pleaded guilty to unrelated drug charges Tuesday. Aaron Seth Juarez, 20, pleaded guilty to possession of heroin for sale and agreed to a two-year state prison sentence. Juarez was taken into custody in San Diego earlier this month for probation violations. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The Golden Knights offered a spectacular preview aboard the USS Midway, landing on the flight deck. The event was part of the museums Army Day celebration. The day began with an enlistment ceremony. A Japanese-American World War II veteran read the oath of enlistment to the Army’s newest recruits. The celebration marks the first event of its kind aboard the Midway. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The aunt of a Marine who was rescued after an amphibious assault vehicle accident Thursday off the coast of San Clemente Island says he is recovering well.Catrina Tomamichel said her nephew Dallas, 22, drowned before his brothers in arms rescued him."They pulled him out of the water, my understanding is there is someone, I don't know their name but I want to say thank you, they gave him CPR," says Tomamichel.She said he was airlifted to the hospital and he's now recovering at Balboa Naval Medical Center. She said he is able to walk and already asking to go back to work. It's pretty difficult to lose your family and they are family," says Tomamichel.Thursday night, five Marines were rescued after the training accident and are back on their assigned ship. The Navy is using their Remote Operated Vehicle to continue the search for the AAV and the victims. "We are devastated for them and we are praying for them," Tomamichel said. "We never thought that this would happen, but you know what?
