SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Immigration and Customs Enforcement issued new guidelines that could have a big impact on many international students studying in the U.S.The modifications were posted to ICE's website, outlining the new rules for students on F-1 or M-1 visas. The guidelines say students may not take a full online course load and remain in the United States and that the Department of State won't issue visas to students enrolled in programs that are fully online or allow them to enter the country. The news comes as many schools including San Diego State University and UC San Diego have moved to online only or a hybrid format because of the COVID-19 pandemic.In their modified guidelines, ICE said they had issued a temporary exemption regarding online courses for the spring and summer semesters. If you're out being active, more organic natural moments will arrive," Tingler told reporters, saying that he doesn't plan to sit in his office often.The Padres introduced the former Texas Rangers coach to the media at Petco Park Thursday. In front of a backdrop of brown and gold, general manager A.J. Preller spoke on Tingler's experience and confidence in him managing the team starting in 2020. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Kensington's historic Ken Cinema, an institution in the San Diego neighborhood for nearly 75 years, is closing its doors for good this March.The theater will shut down after March 22, a spokesperson with owner Landmark Theaters told 10News.According to the spokesperson, "After long consideration and much effort, we regret that we are unable to continue operating the Ken Cinema ... The company recognizes what a cherished asset the Ken has been to the neighboring community. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - In preparation for one of the most advanced fighter jets in the world, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar is planning security upgrades to its airfield perimeter fence.10News discovered it’s one of nine large-scale construction projects that Miramar will be doing over the next decade."These construction projects here are what enables, that is what brings our national defense policy and strategy to reality," said Public Works Officer Lt. Commander Travis Brinkman.Currently being built in the heart of MCAS Miramar is a 160,000 square foot hangar is designed to hold up to 12 F-35s.It's the first of three hangars planned for the location."The need to provide modern facilities as well as the F-35 has specific requirements, specific systems that need different maintenance, different capabilities within the facility itself to provide that maintenance,” said Brinkman. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Lifeguards are working to rescue a man stuck on a rock near Border Field State Park Monday afternoon. Lifeguards say they received a call from Border Patrol before noon Monday about a man stuck in the middle of an estuary bear the park. San Diego and Imperial Beach lifeguards as well as the Coastguard is helping with the rescue. The man was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. 421
