Phoenix police say a young mother reported missing after her baby was?abandoned has been found dead. Police say the body of Jasmine Dunbar, 21, was found by police aircraft late Wednesday afternoon in the area of 107th Avenue and Camelback Road. Officials are awaiting official identification of the body through scientific analysis, but the body has been tentatively identified as Dunbar.The body had significant burn evidence.Dunbar was last seen with her ex-boyfriend Antwaun Travon Ware, 20, on Tuesday night.Family members told Scripps station KNXV in Phoenix she left home with Ware and her 7-month-old baby around 7:30 p.m. The infant was found alone in her car seat along the road near 83rd and Minnezona avenues around 10 p.m.Police located Ware at his home on Wednesday morning and he agreed to come to police headquarters for an interview.Due to evidence collected, police developed probable cause to arrest Ware on one count of first-degree murder, kidnapping, abandonment of a body and child abuse. PALM CITY, Fla. -- A new dog training facility is almost complete in Florida. Its goal is to rescue pups and turn them into service dogs for veterans who need them now even more than ever during a pandemic.Veteran Suhir Shrestha was born in Nepal and moved to the U.S. He was so thankful for his life here that he decided to enlist in the military as a way to give back, at 39 years old."I deployed to Afghanistan in 2013 and there, obviously, it was a war zone," he said.Shrestha said when he returned, he suffered from PTSD, depression and anxiety."I had a lot of suicidal thoughts and a lot of negative thoughts, nightmares, flashbacks, what have you," he said. "It was very difficult to lead a life."It's a life that has recently take on new meaning with Indie by his side."It has been a tremendous life-changer for me," he said. "Before, I used to be not able to go outside, be nervous of a crowd and just have negative thoughts in me."Indie was adopted from the shelter-to-service dog program through Furry Friends Adoption Clinic and Ranch."Gives me extra confidence to go outside because I have him," Shrestha said."These dogs are coming from high-kill shelters in many cases," said Pat Deshong, the president of Furry Friends Adoption Clinic and Ranch. "We don't necessarily take them to be service dogs, but we take them because they are high energy."The group is building a new training center in Palm City and is weeks away from completion. It's all in an effort to bring veterans from across the country to Florida to adopt."These veterans are so deserving of these dogs," Deshong said. "We don't automatically pick which dog is right for the veteran. PHOENIX - Believe it or not, a shelter pup was returned to the Arizona Animal Welfare League in Phoenix because he was too good.In a Monday Facebook post, AAWL said 1-year-old Binx was adopted and returned within 48 hours with notes saying he's potty-trained, good with kids and fun to play with. Turns out, Binx's temporary new family wanted more of a challenge from their adoptive pooch and returned him to AAWL.According to the shelter's Facebook page, Binx "can't get anything done at the shelter because everyone is petting me, telling me what a good boy I am, and taking me for walks!"Binx's profile on the AAWL?website says an active family would be ideal for the large-breed dog, who loves to run, hike, and do "anything that involves being outside."Anyone who wants more information on Binx can check him out here. 836

Police in Northern California say a nurse driving home from her shift at a hospital was assaulted after she encountered a group of protesters who say she intentionally drove into the crowd. Santa Rosa police say they are investigating but add that video evidence does not show that the woman purposely drove into about 100 people marching Saturday night. The woman told officers she was punched in the face by a man who followed her after she drove away from a “swarm” of people blocking her vehicle. Protesters initially said a teenager on a bicycle had been injured but no victims have come forward to police."SRPD officers met with several protesters who believed that the driver of the SUV intentionally drove through the crowd. There was some discrepancy as to how fast the vehicle was driving. Several protesters provided video footage of the incident to the officers on scene," police said in a statement. "The videos show the protesters taking over all lanes of traffic on Sonoma Avenue, heading eastbound. It also showed it was dark outside. In the videos, it is clear that the vehicle is approaching the crowd and you can hear several people yelling profanities at the driver. At one point, protesters surround the vehicle and the vehicle is struck by several unknown objects and a skateboard. Because the vehicles’ path was blocked by protesters, the driver tried to maneuver her way out of the crowd until her path was clear. PEORIA, AZ — An Arizona man and woman have been arrested after their three-year-old child died of an apparent fentanyl overdose.According to court paperwork, a three-year-old child was found dead on June 14 inside a Peoria, Arizona, home by the child’s mother.Police say Shala Durham and Ryan Konkol were interviewed by detectives after they responded to the home, and weren’t able to give a clear, consistent account of what transpired before the child was found dead.Court paperwork shows that Durham told officers she had recently purchased Xanax from a street drug dealer, and that she was also under medical treatment of Methadone.Durham allegedly told police that she had taken one-and-a-half pills and left the others in her purse on a table before falling asleep with the child on a living room couch. Konkol reportedly fell asleep around the same time on a separate couch. Durham said that when she woke up the next day, the child was deceased.Search warrants were obtained for blood samples of Durham and the child’s father, Ryan Konkol.Results for Durham and Konkol came back positive for fentanyl. A lethal amount of fentanyl was also detected in the victim’s blood.Lab results showed the pills to be Alprazolam, which is a benzodiazepine, used to treat anxiety and as a sleep aid.Both Durham and Konkol face one count of first-degree murder.This article was written by 1390
