(AP) — A convicted felon has been charged with abducting two Christian college students and forcing them to perform sex acts on each other at gunpoint after they violated curfew and were locked out of their southwest Missouri campus.Robert Hyslop, 49, of Branson, Missouri, is jailed without bond on charges of kidnapping, sexual abuse and sodomy, the Springfield News-Leader reported. No attorney is listed for Hyslop in online court records. He could face life in prison if convicted.College of the Ozarks, in the small town of Point Lookout, has a 1 a.m. curfew. Gates to the front entrance, known as the Gates of Opportunity, remain locked until 5 a.m.Charging documents say the two students, a male and a female, arrived back at campus 10 minutes too late in the early hours of Oct. 29, so they went to a nearby commuter lot to sleep.Hyslop, who was on probation for a 2017 drug conviction, told Taney County investigator Dan Luttrell that he had been high on methamphetamine for three days when he spotted the sleeping students around 3 a.m., court records say. Hyslop allegedly used a hammer to smash the passenger window, showed a gun, and got inside the car.Luttrell said Hyslop admitted forcing the male student to drive to a highway lookout. Once there, he allegedly forced the students to perform sex acts on each other, and forced the woman to touch him sexually.Hyslop then told the students to drive him back to his car, Luttrell wrote. The students contacted police and gave a detailed description of their attacker and his vehicle. He was arrested several days later. Charges were filed Thursday.College of the Ozarks spokeswoman Valorie Coleman said the college received a report about the incident on Oct. 29 and issued a campus safety alert on Oct. 30. She declined further comment about the alleged crime.Sue Head, the college's vice president for cultural affairs and dean of character education, said students can call a 24-hour security number to unlock the gate."We do have the phone number posted clearly at the front gate," Head said.Coleman and Head said there are legitimate reasons for students to break curfew, including working off-campus jobs. But, she said, "If they are habitually late, they are going to have to have a conversation with the dean of students."Coleman said the college has offered the students confidential counseling."We are sick over this incident for the students. We are trying to protect their privacy," Coleman said. "The fact that all the details have been in the media, I just hate that for them."A campus for another school, Ozarks Technical Community College, also is near the commuter lot. Police have made an arrest in the death of Melinda Pleskovic — a long-time Strongsville, Ohio teacher.The fiancé of Melinda's daughter has been charged with aggravated murder.Jeffrey Scullin, 20, was arrested Tuesday. Police in Germantown, Wisconsin are looking for a bathroom creeper who took pictures of a woman while she was using the restroom. It happened Monday afternoon at the McDonald’s on Mequon Road. “While she was in the stall she saw two arms holding some sort of recording device,” Police Chief Peter Hoell said. That’s when the startled woman ran out of the bathroom after the suspect. The restaurant’s manager saw the commotion and ran out of the building behind the woman, they both saw the suspect get into an old RV and take off. “The vehicle should stick out,” said Hoell. Surveillance cameras captured images of the man and his getaway vehicle. Because the man was driving an RV, the chief said he believes he may be from out of town. Hoell hopes that social media will help in the investigation. “Depending on the interest, that post might go to multiple states, we may have an opportunity to identify this person even if he is not from Wisconsin,” said Hoell. 1002

Police in Ohio are looking for thieves who made away with massive amounts of candy at a Garfield Heights convenience store.According to detectives, a Cleveland-area Speedway convenience store has been robbed of tens of thousands of dollars in sweets.Garfield Heights Police said they have been working this case since June.“We're getting calls after the fact because when they're doing their inventory, then they're discovering the shortage,” said Detective Phillip Herron.The surveillance video shows the robber walking in, followed by several other people.“This guy’s got a bag, he's shoving all kinds of candy and there's a lot of people in that store, and not one person has called us, alerted us,” said Herron.The manage of the Speedway declined to comment on the robberies. Herron said the manager has also declined to speak to police.“As far as getting cooperation from employees in the store, we're not getting a lot of cooperation,” he said.So where is all this candy going? Herron said the robbers are most likely not eating it all, but reselling it.“Either take that candy and resell it to a store,” he said. “We got information from other cities that, some of these inner-city stores are buying the stolen candy for pennies on the dollar and they'll be able to resell it and make a bigger profit.”Back in July of 2016, thieves stole hundreds of dollars worth of candy at the Speedway in nearby Berea. Police in Middleburg Heights, another nearby Cleveland suburb, also confirmed a similar robbery earlier this year.The detective said the black market is becoming a bigger business on the streets.
